Hi, although I've found several comments about people having issues with this racing wheel, none of them seemed to be the same as mine so I'm starting a new thread as I was told by the admin after we had a chat in private messages.

My problem is with Force Feedback on my Thrustmaster T500RS. I've followed BeamNG's guide on how to set up my wheel, it's a T500RS, everything works, reacts, except for force feedback, there is no feedback at all... I've also tried to deactivate all mods but nothing seems to be working, reinstall all drivers, BeamNG, I've tried all suggestions several times.

Also, my force feedback works in other games.

Thanks, hope you'd be able to help

I´ve checked your support ID, but i cannot see anything out of the ordinary. I do see that you have some mods installed, as well as customized steering wheel bindings, and apparently some attempts at using a different Thrustmaster steering wheel in beamng.drive in the past (a TMX model maybe?).

I suggest you first try to disconnect all input devices except keyboard/mouse/t500. Unplug the shifter device too, if that is possible. Then go to Options > Controls > Reset All. (warning: this will remove all your binding customizations!).

Try to play with those default settings, which we have tested and were working back when they were tested.

If that doesn't fix it, let's go the safe route and perform a clean reinstall, this ensures no corrupted files or mod leftovers are affecting the game installation. Then try the steering wheel as-is, without trying to customize its bindings.

If that doens't work, still do not customize its bindings ingame, but instead try to reinstall the Thrustmaster drivers with the latest stalbe version they may provide.

Edit: also make sure to plug the wheel directly to the computer. If you have any kind of USB extender, or any USB hub with multiple ports, bypass them all and connect the cable directly from wheel to computer.

Okay, I've done eveything you recommended in exact order as you wrote it in that post.
On this computer and on BeamNG in general (on my steam BeamNG profile), I've never used other steering wheels than this T500RS. I've had a Saitek X52 flight controller in the past though.

After unplugging my shifter I reset my bindings and settings via "Reset All", went to the grid map, with stock Gavril pickup, no change.
I've performed clean reinstall, went back to the game but all mods were loaded from repository, I've disactivated all the mods then, grid, gavril, no change.
After reinstallation of the Thrustmaster drivers with fresh drivers from their website, grid, gavril, no change.
I've tried all my USB ports, no change.
Then I've done the wheel setup from your website with no change.

Only time when I experienced some effect of FF in the game was when I went to thrustmaster control panel and opened up Gain settings, I had everything (Spring, center, damper) on 0% and overall on 100 just like you recommended in your guide, then I've setup damper, spring, constant and periodic gain to 20% I felt some FF so I tried to play a bit with the settings to tweak it, as soon as I've changed first value and went back to game all FF was gone. For that short period of time when I had FF in game it was very rough and weird, almost like if it wasn't controlled at all by game, just very poor FF effects.

I've decided to try Assetto Corsa and noticed I have no force feedback there too, no matter what I've setup in the game settings, it had no effect, then I tried to setup Thrustmaster gain settings, only then I was able to see some differences, but again very rough.

edit:// now I've tried launch manager for assetto corsa and using that my force feedback seems to be working good, that's weird, should I try to contact Thrustmaster support ? My wheel is quite old so they won't refund it but maybe they'd give some ideas at least ? Or do you think it's game's problem ?

I'm afraid I honestly don't know anything else to suggest. If Assetto Corsa has also experienced issues, this would point towards issues with the steering wheel side, so I think it would be more appropriate to get support from its manufacturer at this point.

It looks like it depends on the server, I guess some servers don't support force feedback which is strange but it seems to be working now on servers I play at the moment...

    Glad to read that!

Did you change any driver settings, receive any Windows update, or receive any drivers update? The force feedback system has not received changes from our side in this update.
