Thumbnail Showroom

    I want to make thumbnails in the thumbnail editor that are in the same map as the official ones to preserve continuity, but there are multiple problems:

    There is no white lightroom map in the game that could be used to take the thumbnails
    the darkroom map is dark, and changing the colour to white doesn't make the lighting accurate compared to the official thumbnails

    The lighting is noticeably different, and editing the car's colours, chrominess or turning on dynamic reflections doesn't fix this

    Is there any possibility of the official thumbnail map being released?

    I know what you mean and agree! But i don't think they want the official showroom public,(otherwise they would have done it already) so mods thumbnails look different (stock dark showroom) because thats oh so bad if they would look the same :rolleyes:

    stock vs mod comparison: mod showroom is still darker even with materials full on white, car is in a different angle

    That still makes no sense though
    it breaks the continuity of the menu by having contrasting thumbnails and you can already tell the difference between official and mod thumbnails by the beamng icon to the left of the name

    Yeah, thats what i mean, i want them too look the same as well! But that little icon is barely noticeable...

    I've tried editing the darkroom map's lighting, but i can't seem to actually get the same lighting as the official showroom

    they're reasonably close and in menu resolution it's not overly noticeable

    I still don't get why they won't let us make the same pictures! Why can't we just have this in the level selector and open it right up, choose your mod and generate thumbnails and they will look the same!?
    We get 700 D-series configs and don't really need to open the part selector anymore (ok, thats exaggerated), but we don't get some showrooms and have to manually select things in the materials? :confused::confused::confused:
    Any it would be nice if the generator would ignore stock game configs, and only make thumbnails for mod configs!

    The map is already in-game.
    Load the dark one, then open the editor and you will see two meshes, one is hidden.
    Those correspond to the dark and light background. Swap the hides to have the light one visible.
    You have to disable dynamic reflections, as these levels uses the static ones.

    How do you do this exaclty after you loaded the showroom? Mine is currently white.

    Would be nice if the showroom would be selectable in the level selector! I always have to choose a one-config mod (liebherr loader) and generate thumbnails to get to the showroom :rolleyes:
    I it like you guys don't want us to access it easily!

    Open editor, hide the 'dark' background and unhide the 'light' one.
    We did this as it can be done instantly and we don't have to change level.

    The showroom it's hidden since it's not for gameplay purposes, but it will appear in the selector if you use the searchbar.

    I might be being stupid, but there's only 1 "TSStatic" in the dark showroom so only the black one exists

    Another thing i noticed is that somehow the reflections are different from the official thumbnails despite apparently being the same map

    hit generate thumbnails without selecting 'stay on current map?'
