I have looked at a few topics on this but don't seem to be able to prevent the tie rod breaking on the oldsmobile , the steering breaks very easy in demo derby for example and looking to increase the strength for more lengthy derby battles ?
From here https://wiki.beamng.com/JBeam_Reference#beams beamStrength is what you need to change, but next challenge is to find what of the all beams is tie rod beam. In game you can find debug menu option, node names are what you need to find, that helps you to see node names of tie rod and when you find beam that has those node names, then you have found your tie rod. File is front suspension jbeam, but I don't remember what was exact file in that mod. Anyway, that should help you to find out what you need to get tie rod strengthened
TYVM , the debug is not something I have explored yet, so thanks I had edited a few BeamStrength values but obviously not the correct one so far
