It seems like tires becomes very fragile when they are inflated at less than 1 bar. They destroy themselves very easily. It the real world, on trial offroad cars, it is common to inflate tires at around 0.3 bar using beadlocks rims. It works without much problems during a competition duration. I did test with the hopper crawler, 17x9 Trial 250 offroad wheels and 36x12.5 R17 Crawler tires. I noted too that when lowering the tire pressure, we do not get really more grip, as we can see in the real world during offroad driving specially in the mud. Are there some specific rims and tires for low pressure use ? This is after a few hundred meters with tires inflated at 0.8 bars.
Honestly I'd like for them to completey overhaul the tires but who knows when that would happen Tire thermals on their own seem like they were forgotten for 2 years now
According to what i'm seing, tires, at least for offroad use, still needs improvements, as well as the terrain (mud, snow...) that do not flow / deform like in the real world. It is not only a picture thing, the grip realism can be improved.
Here is a mod to control pressure from keyboard shortcuts, with a moded user interface app to show the pressure with one decimal place, so that it is possible to check what's going on for low pressures below 1 bar. Watch the readme inside for instructions.
