Also when did I say it was ever easy? I just said that if another game, doesn't matter how many devs, can do it, then a different game such as beam could possibly implement the feature IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE.
Again, the devs don’t have the manpower of Microsoft or EA, and they barely do it well(and you need to calm down, I was making a joke). They’d need to make hundreds of high res textures(again). You’re being illogical, please stop.
The other game did not implement scratches though. They implemented a scratched texture that reveals itself when the damaged body model is transistioned in. EDIT: Also, it does matter how many devs. The smaller the team, the more time has to be prioritised on other more important things than visuals.
Beam and Forza are differently structured games with different purposes. This is unavoidable to the argument and is why they can be implemented in one and not the other
It is the same system. There is premodelled damage that is slowly transitioned in to the area that got hit.
The type that Forza has will not work with soft body physics. It needs to have a pre modelled damaged body or else it won't have scratches show up in the right places, and sometimes scratches will appear on undamaged parts.
But if it ever DOES get released, it would most likely be some sort of "WIP alpha" or whatever and would get better and better over time. Nothing needs to be perfect at the start.
You do not know how hard it is to create textures. Please can we end this now? It may be implemented, but we don’ know.
