The Lexus GX is the same thing, just with leather seats.
theoretically you could buy a GX and put prado body panels on it if you wanted one so badly; all of the sheet metal is the same.

its ridicules how much the fj cruisers are selling for, for example this one sold on bring a trailer for $103,000, probably because it somehow only has 250 miles, and looks brand new,

Just saw a sweet FJ40 in forest green with a white roof, had a nice patina (not that I like patina), and a period-appropriate snorkel, stock white wheels and hubcaps, etc.

they still make the J70 in wagon/troop carrier form.

(and if you want to be technical, the J300 is the J50's successor, through the j60, 80, 100, and 200)

My Neighbor has a 2007 Toyota Land Crusier Prado in Black. Quite a good looking car.

FJ Cruiser was the right truck at the wrong time for Toyota.

Had it been released in 2018, with an engine that doesn't require premium fuel like they did for the first 3 years, it would have sold like hot cakes.

But instead it felt more like a late-comer to the neo-retro craze of the 2000s, with really high fuel costs for what it is due to a combination of requiring premium fuel and having the aerodynamics of a brick. Between that and a 4Runner the choice was really easy for most people, and the market back then wasn't large enough then for Toyota to justify 2 competing models in their lineup.

i love those years of prados, and you know people say the lexus gx is practically the same, but for me i like the prado better because the gx front end just dosent look desirable to me, to many sharp lines and in my opinion the grill is too big as well,

so i wanted to post this and this is the most appropriate thread for this, sorry for the bump, so toyota released a teaser today of the next generation land cruiser! to me the front looks like it could be similar to the fj cruiser or the fj40, the back looks alot like the 90s j80 land cruiser and then over all of course, it looks like a lexus gx since its practically a rebadged prado, i for one am very excited not only to have the land cruiser name back in the US, but to see this in all its glory since the sequoia was never meant to replace the land cruiser, i also brightened up the image as much as i could,

I suspect that they're massively reshuffling the land cruiser lineup.

Currently, for 4WD wagons, Toyota have the 4Runner, Fortuner, J150 Prado, J70 Land Cruiser, and J300 Land Cruiser,
and with the success of the bronco, they have reason to bring back the FJ Cruiser.

Going off the dimensions of the GX, it seems to be the same size as the J300, so I think they intend to aim the J300's lineage more upmarket, akin to the Range Rover. The new Prado will take over the non-luxury market the J200 previously filled, as well as replacing the old Prado, and most variants of the J70 (though I can't see them making a new troop carrier).
At that point, the 4Runner and Fortuner will stick around, perhaps as cheaper vehicles, still based off the Tacoma and Hilux respectively.

The FJ Cruiser was my last gift from my uncle who died from Covid almost 2 years ago.

Well, to give back everything he has done to us, I gave back the FJ Cruiser as part of his decorations next to his wife (yes, he was cremated along with her), and now, everytime I see an FJ Cruiser, I cannot help but respect the owner of this 3 windshield wiper Toyota SUV.
