A powerful V8 powered buggy with options for RWD, AWD, 2 and 4 seater chassis, as well as Gavril and Bruckell engines. This results in a buggy that is able to keep up with Trophy Trucks on rough terrain. Features : 24"+ inches of suspension travel front and rear, with "finely engineered" suspension geometry 2 and 4 seater chassis variants that share suspension and engines, allowing you to use this as a race buggy, prerunner or sandcar. Bypass dampers for optimum performance in woops and on larger hits Choice of Gavril V8, Bruckell V8 and Gavril Diesel engines. Variants optimised for desert racing, pre-runner and playing around in the dunes.
I love it already --- Post updated --- I really like it, you did a really good job on it. Are you going to add bump stops to the front?
Great Mod! What's different between it and the Apache? Trying to find out which one is better (suspension-wise mostly)
The Apache is based on Class 10 buggies. It has a nearly stock 4 cylinder engine and weights around 1 ton. It also is RWD only and runs 35" tires. It also has variants that are more optimized for short course racing on smoothish dirt tracks which the Tomahawk doesn't have. The Tomahawk is a Class 1 buggy, with a high-output V8, and a bigger and heavier chassis (around 2 tons but it varies a lot) as well as 40" tires. The "unlimited" variants have somewhere between 700 and 900 horsepower. If I remember correctly they are similar in terms of suspension travel, but the Tomahawk's larger tires help it on rougher stuff. But overall they are a very different experience. The Apache can be driven nearly flat out most of the time, and is more about keeping momentum. The Tomahawk requires a lot of playing with the throttle to manage your speed so you don't end up going waaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast onto a jump or into a turn. I had initially planned on that, but after looking at a bunch of reference, most of the real life class 1 buggies seem to not run hydraulic bump stops on the front, probably due to the fairly lightweight front end. I still set it up jbeam wise so both ends are relatively smooth when bottoming out.
I noticed after playing around with it, It really does not need bumps up front as it is so light in the front and rarely bottoms out in the front
is there something bugged with it? Car is awesome, I saw 4wd and immediately tried to go to rocks with it, seems like I cant get any front drive --- Post updated --- looks like it might just be the front diff not getting power if its set to locked
Idk if this is a bug but I have noticed it will randomly burst into flames. I have seen it a couple times and I think its an issue with the underside scraping against a rock or the terrain, and when its on fire it wont drain the fuel which is kinda confusing.
It's not really meant for rocks. Most variants have open diffs front and rear like the real life equivalent. For the AWD one of the variant has a electronic locking diff which might behave weirdly when crawling.
yeah I get that, its not even when crawling though, unless I missed something, if one puts a locked diff in the front, it becomes a rear wheel drive car. Other than that it drives awesome and its better than a lot of paid mods!
I rechecked, and there seems to be something broken with the locked front diff. I'll add that to the TODO list for fixes.
Any idea why some are missing wheels and some dont have any dashboards cameras inside cars Etc. Please any help greatly appreciated thanks!
