When I open the game, I can use it for about a minute before something goes wrong while driving. The transmission/engine on any car becomes shot. The RPMs go through the roof and the max speed of the car is about 30 mph. I try every type of transmission mode, they all do the same thing. On manual clutch assist, the gears shift, but the rpms still rev at max. This is really annoying and I'm not sure what the problem is. Using Logitech G29.

Are you using a high HP engine mod? If so, the clutch is most likely slipping.

Thanks for the reply. Nope, not using any game altering mods. Only mods I've got installed are a map and one car. The problem still happens with any map and any car.

Ok. And you said you're using a Logitech G29 which uses 3 pedals - Is your clutch pedal properly calibrated? (Depress the pedal all the way down and back up again) Other than this, I really can't think of anything else (maybe the devs can comment).

Thanks for the prompt help! I am using the G29, and the clutch is properly calibrated, but I can retry. The odd part is that it doesn't happen immediately, and is inconsistent. I'll see if I can sort any calibration issues out. Thanks for the help.

Positive. After I reset, multiple times, it still does that. I need to close and reopen the game to fix the problem temporarily.

I have the same problem as OP. I tried a complete clean reinstall but the problem still persists. I was able to drive a manual car normally in "Arcade" shifting mode but after I mapped the gears to my Driving Force Shifter and using "Manual" shifting mode, the problem occurs. Also the Arcade shifting mode stops working after mapping my gears to Driving Force Shifter (it wont change higher than 1st gear in Arcade mode).

If you try to shift gears in arcade mode, it will drop out of arcade mode and into whatever mode is suitable, depending on the gearbox part that the current vehicle is equipped with. When this happens, it is indicated with a message on the top left of your screen (messages UI app).

Put another way, you cannot shift gears in Arcade mode (by design).

What about the high RPM issue? I remember being able to drive normally fully manual mode with my G29 and shifter but then some update screwed it up. Unfortunately I am unable to pin point it to a specific update since I don't play very often.

It would help if you could record a video like this:
    - Go to menu Options > Gameplay > Enable Advanced Options, make sure it's checked.
    - Then go to menu Apps > Add App > Pedals and Axis. Move the app to the right side of the screen.
    - Go to menu Controls > Hardware. Keep this menu open while recording the video, with the pedals axes visible (so scroll down the menu if necessary).
    - Now start recording the video, perform whatever actions lead to the problematic RPM issues.

This will make it easier to identify the issue. Thanks!

I noticed that the clutch stays only at 50% all the time, could that be the problem? I couldn't get it to make full travel by changing the settings.

That is definitely a problem. The Controls > Hardware panel shows whatever input values Windows/Drivers are providing to the game via DirectInput. If the values in Controls > Hardware are wrong, 99.999% of times the problem lies outside BeamNG, and can only be corrected by properly configuring the steering wheel drivers. I assume you have installed the latest drivers already?

    If not, please do so.

After that, please check that the pedal travel is correct in Windows Control Panel, and/or in whatever configuration program your steering wheel drivers provide.

Note that, as you may have read in the last changelog, you may need to install the BETA drivers from Logitech for stuff to work correctly, since they have been correcting some important problems in the last few weeks.

Additionally, like the Hardware panel mentions, make sure you disable any option for combined pedals that may exist in the drivers configuration windows.

I had the latest drivers and combined pedals ticked off. But luckily I was able to fix this problem by going to Game Controllers -> G29's Properties -> Settings tab -> Button "Reset to default" in Windows. This made the clutch fully functional again. Thank you for your help.
