Trouble with an xbox wireless steering wheel

I'm trying to use my wireless xbox 360 steering wheel with this game and it kinda works but it registers as a regular xbox 360 controller, also it only turns a little over 90 degrees either way so the steering in game turns like twice as fast so any little movement is magnified and the steering is wicked touchy. So what I'm wondering is, is there any way to make the game recognize it as a steering wheel instead of a controller? or (probably the easier solution) is there a way to change the steering settings to reduce how far you can turn each way in game?

 

the game sadly cant recognise the controller as a wheel, its actually part of how that wheel was made that internally it is a controller not a wheel. But you can tweak the settings for the steering axis, might want to try changing the filtering options and maybe tweak sensitivity.
