This file might not exist for you, so don't be alarmed if you can not find it. For v2.1 Spoiler Info Trynelgren now has rocks, trees, and buildings. It's actually beginning to look like a map! Unfortunately, these addictions have hurt fps quite a good bit, but this was to be expected The next version will include more scenarios and other stuff. Loir- This is what happens when I drink three cups of coffee. Trynelgren is located in the fictional Grand Duchy of Ouerbacker, a small country located between the "Pasta People" and the "Serious Speakers." Trynelgren is pronounced like the "trin" of trinket, the "el" of bell, and the "grin" of grin. Download and Installation 1- Download Trynelgren2.1.zip and place it in documents/beamng.drive/mods. 2- Remove previous versions of this map from the aforementioned folder. 3- Delete the folder named "Trynelgren" under documents/beamng.drive/cache.0.4.2.2/levels. This file might not exist for you, so don't be alarmed if you can not find it. optional-mediafire link http://www.mediafire.com/download/qe6q0obc6xn6qj5/Trynelgren2.1.zip Known Issues The new forest files do not work with the old directx9 version of Beamng. If you are running a directx9 version of Beamng, you will not have any rocks or trees. But... the fps! The low object details on some of the buildings are the wrong color. I felt too lazy to fix this this week. maybe... next week... One texture is lacking a material.cs file. Open the console, and you will see it. I'll fix this in the next version. Want to get your name in the credit Make a scenario and toss it my way! _________________________________________________________________________________ For v1.5, which I accidentally named v2 Spoiler Info Spoiler This map is no longer as simple as it was before. It now includes a road, a sky, a terrain, a dam, some basic vegetation, some rocks, and an even dumber in-game description. Please note that v1.5 does not include all of the rocks. Because I won't have any time to work on this map until next week, I though it would be a wise decision for me to release something now. Download Download Trynelgrenv2.zip and place it in documents/beamng.drive/mods. Also, removing previous versions of this map would probably be a smart idea. ...and, yes, I gave the zip file the wrong name. _________________________________________________________________________________ For v1 Spoiler I felt in the mood to toss a map together this weekend... so I tossed together a map and used an IKEA bathroom mirror to come up with a name. Info Please note that this map is very simple. It contains a road, a sky, and some land. There is no vegetation whatsoever. If I decide to come back to this map in the future, I will add some grass. Download Just download the attached zip and place it in documents/beamng.drive/mods. _____________________________________________________________________________ Credits Google Earth World Machine CG textures Beamng Ikea, as well as Atomix Photoshop Gimp Sims 3 Create a World DoullPepper Scepheo GarageGames GoogleSketchup Gromorg
Re: Trynelgren Yeah. However, sims was only used for the roads. The "create a world" part of sims is able to import/export 16 bit pngs, the same types of files that torque uses and world machine exports. Since "create a world" has a better set of tools for making roads than torque, it is logical to use it.
Re: Trynelgren Put some quick vegetation in to see how it looks. Strange color but it looks really good with basic groundcover. I'm going to say the Sims road tool is probably way more intuitive than World Machine. The height map looks really crisp too.
Re: Trynelgren Hello Ouerbaker! Fantastique!! Great find the sims tool! I must try it... Also I have a question, do you paint manually rockydirt material on the sediment flow or do you use an another method? And as usual your textures have a perfect render! - - - Updated - - - Hey! Thief! I recognize this groundcover! Nice color however..
Re: Trynelgren Yes, it is. Thanks No, the sediment flow was not painted manually. When I imported the heightmap, I also imported some grayscale images for the terrain layers. Since Steam, I haven't been able to do this in Beamng, so I toss the terrain file together in an old copy of beamng and move the generated file to my up to date install of Beamng. I'm happy that you like the textures! Also, could I possibly use some of the vegetation from your Altitude map on this map.
Re: Trynelgren Looks nice! Is there support for the A.I.? This seems like a fun road to chase things on.
Re: Trynelgren Alright, sweet. Just as you posted that I was coming back to edit my post to answer my own question.
Re: Trynelgren Uuurf! What you say? I feel since some updates, that map editor run worse and you say that you use an old version of it confirm my feel , also I dont really understand your method with grayscale image but maybe with a little exemple or screen I could understand? But what is your number version of Beam to do it? And, I have done a long work for the ground cover textures of Altitude but it would be with pleasure you use it
Re: Trynelgren These images might clear things up. Ignore the text in the scene tree. I tossed the .ter together in a random level Unfortunately, I don't know what version of the game that I'm doing this in. Most of the file date from around mid-2014, though.
Re: Trynelgren Epic map to jump off cliffs at high speed, very enjoyable. +1 to add grass, trees and stuff and keep the cliffs to jump from.
Re: Trynelgren Thank you! I must study that and do some test on an old version of Beam... Also you have make some textures for the sky or is it the beam textures? It seems to me more nice.. And a last question Do you work actually on a complete map? What about Shorty's pass?
Re: Trynelgren The sky is out of Jungle Rock Island. For some reason or other, it seems new. I always work toward completing my maps, but I have a bad habit of getting sidetracked. Usually, this sidetracking happens because I come up with a better way to do something. I'll probably work on Shorty's Pass after this map. It was experiencing some fps and vegetation problems that got much worse around version 4.0 of Beamng, but I now have some new ideas for how to fix this.
