    INTRODUCTION

No one likes ugly screenshots. I see them everywhere with shadows disabled with the default FOV etc. This thread serves to fix that, and teach users to take great screenshots.

    Requirements:
    • BeamNG.drive
    • Photo Editing Program (Paint.NET, GIMP, Ps, etc.)

    Example:
screenshot_00002.pngscreenshot_00008.pngscreenshot_00008_2.png → THIS NEXT ONE IS A BIT OVER THE TOP → screenshot_00008_dark.png

    PART 1: TAKING THE SCREENSHOT

    STEP 1

    Lower Field of View

    STEP 2
Put the camera at a good angle. It might help to slow the camera speed.
    SHIFT+C for free camera.
Press F11 to open level editor.

    STEP 3
Turn the wheel a bit and press J to pause.

    STEP 4
    Put settings to ultra.

    STEP 5

    STEP 7
Press ALT+U to hide the UI.

    STEP 8
    Take the screenshot using CTRL+P
    Capture.PNG

    PART 2: POST EDITING
THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE FOR POST EDITING, DON'T FOLLOW EXACTLY. JUST MESS AROUND AND EDIT TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT.

    STEP 1

Navigate to the image. Location: C:\Users\NaxNir\Documents\BeamNG.drive\screenshots

    STEP 2
    Open with Paint.NET

    STEP 3
    Apply Grain (plugin link)

    STEP 4
    Apply Glow
    [gfycat]FearlessOblongBluemorphobutterfly[/gfycat]

    STEP 5
Adjust the curves, although in this example I'm going a bit over the top.

    STEP 6
Save/Export to an image format (PNG, JPEG, etc.)

PART 3: POSTING TO THE FOURMS

    STEP 1
Find a thread to post to. Don't start a new thread. Most of the time you should use the Community Screenshots thread.

    STEP 2
    Upload it.

    STEP 3
    Insert and post.
