Traffic spawning in the game right now is quite bad. I really don't like it. Now, I don't quite care about traffic's driving. It works well enough for the game. Sure, it could be better. So could I. But both are pretty good, all things considered, and it's too much work at the moment. In both cases. Additionally, traffic density feels proper. Again, I'd love to drive in traffic on highways, but that time is far removed. Traffic respawing is well done, and I greatly appreciate it. But traffic spawning? It sucks. Let me be clear. I don't have a problem with the time it takes to start up the traffic, or the lag I often get when I first do it. I get it. But there's this little problem - I don't want to drive around with four Wentward DT40Ls. That hurts my rate more than, say, four midsized vehicles. And are four DT40Ls really realistic on Small Island? My suggestion is simple. I want to create a group of cars, some in reserve (vehicle pooling) and some that spawn first try, and I'd like to be able to click that button and just spawn that preset - down to the configs (or vehicles... or range of a few vehicles.) That way, I can make the roads feel more realistic. I live, believe it or not, on the East Coast of the United States. There aren't too many Reliant Robins around! If we could have a UI app to do that - perhaps an extension of the vehicle selector, or at least using that framework to tell the game what traffic cars I want spawned, that'd be amazing! It'd be a massive improvement - especially for users with mods and other vehicles that they may not want around 24/7, depending on play structure.
This already exists, but it is a bit tedious. The world editor has a traffic spawning window, which allows for specific cars and configs to spawn. It comes with presets (Europe, USA, Police, etc.) and allows for custom ones ot be set. Hover over the windows option in the world editor: Go into experimental (I think its in there, i know for a fact it is in the window tab so just navigate through there). You can then open the window, choose a preset, and press spawn.
I don't remember how but there's definitely a way to set this more simple, from what I remember. Also you can just spawn whatever cars you want and then enable traffic
I literally LOVE it when I'm on the map of Italy, I advise against traffic, and buses appear among the cars. If it was possible to exclude player-selected vehicles that would not respawn when spawning traffic, the world of Beamng.Drive would be beautiful ...
