A bunch of new sirens were added in 0.12. Oddly enough, 13 are not utilized. I'm wondering if these were added just to have more sirens, or if something is in the works? Spoiler: List of sirens, use in game, and analysis 1 - (Burnside Special Police) An older motor driven siren. Not much to say, as it's a classic police siren and used in game. However, similar sirens were used on early fire apparatus too. 10 - (ETK 800 Polizei) A modern German police siren. Not much to say here too. 11 - (UNUSED) Some sort of wail siren. Not sure what it is. 12 - (UNUSED) This is a bombshell. The Federal Q is the most common siren on fire apparatus. This could hint at an American Fire Truck in the future? Who knows? 13 - (UNUSED) GTA Vice City Ambulance Siren (Thanks to @cookies and milk for identifying it). Not sure what the real life counterpart is. 14 - (UNUSED) Some sort of older siren. Not sure what it is. 15 - (UNUSED) Some sort of European siren. @ThomasPlaysOfficial Believes it is similar to the ones used by the French National Police, but there is a decent bit of difference between the siren tones. 16 - (UNUSED) Not sure what this is. 17 - (UNUSED) I am really stumped with this one. This is obviously an air raid siren. 18 - (Gavril Roamer Sheriff (Both Variants)) Some sort of police siren. Not sure what it is though. 19 - (UNUSED) D&R Magnum Siren Wail Tone (Thanks to @B727TheAirliner for identifying) 19 (2nd siren 19, :| )- (Gavril Vanster Police Package) This siren has appeared in a number of games, including the PC, GameCube and Xbox versions of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and Saint's Row: The Third. It is a mid-90's police siren. 2 - (UNUSED) This siren is nearly identical to the ones used by the California Highway Patrol. 20 - (Gavril Grand Marshall Police Package) A modern police siren, but I don't know which one. 21 - (UNUSED) Those of you who play GTA V will be familiar with this one. That's right, it's the siren used on the Police Bike in the Enhanced Editions of Grand Theft Auto 5. No clue what the real life counterpart is. 22 - (UNUSED) This is a 90's Welp Siren for police use. 23 - (UNUSED) This is a MasterComBS. It is a rather modern police siren. 3 - (Gavril Grand Marshall Belasco City Police Package)(Gavril D-Series Border Patrol)(Gavril Roamer Fire Chief) 90's Federal Signal siren. 4 - (Gavril Grand Marshal Police Package (Unmarked))(Gavril H-Series Ambulance) Motorola Spectra Wail Tone (Thanks to @cookies and milk for identifying it) 5 - (Hirochi Sunburst Police RS) Some sort of Welp Tone used by the Toronto Police (Thanks to @cookies and milk for identifying it) 6 - (Hirochi Sunburst Gendarmerie) A French police siren. Not much to say. 7 - (UNUSED) A two tone siren. Not sure what it is. 8 - (Ibishu 200BX Special Pursuit Unit)(Hirochi Sunburst Police Package) Motorola Spectra Yelp Tone. "Commonly used by Seattle FD, LAFD , various police departments and US government vehicles"- Cookies and Milk (Thanks to @cookies and milk for identifying it) 9 - (Bruckell Moonhawk Detective Special) An older 70's style police siren. Some of these I am completely stumped on, and if someone could help me identify some of the ones I can't recognize, that'd be greatly appreciated. Developer input on these additions would be appreciated as well.
@Fera The first "Siren 19" sounds really close if not identical to the WAIL tone of the D&R Magnum siren. The Ontario Provincial Police used the D&R Magnum siren at one point in their fleet.
siren 13 is the ambulance siren from GTA Vice city siren 4 sounds similar to the Motorola spectra and siren 8 is definitely the yelp tone for the Motorola spectra (Commonly used by Seattle FD, LAFD , various police departments and US government vehicles) Siren 5 I believe is used by Toronto PD but that's all I know as of now
I hope it means that more emergency vehicles will be added, but it might just be extras (maybe to help people making mods?). I hope it’s the first one though...
15 sounds like a french police siren. i dont know the name of the siren, but it is very similar. it sounds a lot like the first siren in this video :
I'm not sure why they would pay money for sirens that they didn't use for vehicles, but who knows? Thanks for your help. It's not a 100% match though, so I'll leave it at what you said until someone finds a closer one.
Number 9 is also used at the beginning of the siren used on the "Fbi" trucks in Saints row 2. But then switches over to something like Number 1 then repeats. Here is a less than average video from 2012.
Thanks for the help. I have SR2 aswell. Sadly, siren 9 sounds nothing like any of the tones you showed me.
Thanks. However, Siren 2 sounds quite different, so I'm gonna leave it as one of the CHP sirens (The closest siren I could find).
Bump... It's kinda interesting how there are a bunch of new sirens that are unused. I suspect new emergency vehicles might come sooner or later solely because it is not economically ideal to purchase the rights to all of this audio and have so much of it unused. Also, if anyone can identify the sirens I couldn't identify, that'd be great.
Seems like those sounds were probably owned by a company, and both R* and BeamNG licensed them. The greatest example of "Sound Sharing" regarding BeamNG is Siren 19, used in BeamNG.Drive, Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV and the non-PS2 ports of NFS HP2 (And technically NFS GT, the arcade port of HP2)
