I'm juste realising something : Leeloo put that teaser in #game-announcements on Discord.

This seems to be the first teaser to get here...o_O

That's why I can think that the update could come in a really near future (tomorrow for example), because it was posted on a quite frequented place by the community : The official Discord

honestly I think the update is a good chance tomorow or thursday reason is it gives the devs time to work on bug fixes witch is nice. but... it could be a bit more likely next week as it gives the "polish" to these items but it could even be later than that who knows we will have to wait and see.

I can attest to this, here in Florida the crown vics that are left, are mainly all community patrol volunteer cars from what I've seen at least.

So if the new car turns out to be a American sedan with a V8 (think dodge charger), the usual cop car in the game could be more up to date (since the Grand Marshal's build years are stated between 1990-1997, making the 1997 cars almost 25 years old).

I'm guessing most modern American police cars are either Chargers, The last-gen Taurus, or the Ford Explorer.

i think that the h series shown in this teaser is probably an older generation like the 85 d series, the mystery machine one looked more in line with the 2000s roamer/d series and this one looks more in like with the 85 one so we might be getting 3 gens of it

My question for everyone speculating that the new car is Ibishu or Jargl, did the devs take into account the car's nationality when they captioned the first teaser with lyrics from the (heavily American) song Paradise City? Or was it just something they thought was cool?

At the time, I took it as referring to it being the all-American song for an All-American car, which is why I thought Moonhawk, in addition to the body lines looking similar.

With it being a modern sedan, it's hard to pinpoint where the car comes from due to most sedans taking inspiration from each other.

It makes sense to be a new Pessima because of the fact that it's coming alongside the remaster. It makes sense to be Bruckell because of the caption and character lines. It makes sense to be Civetta because of the curves and sportiness, that, to me, matches up to something like a Quattraporte.

Devs got me good. I'm stumped...

I agree with all of this except maybe soliad. soliad is the luxury brand of bruckell (kinda like gavril and burnside.) so it would make sense if soliad had fewer cars than bruckell

I completely agree with you there. While it would be nice to see it drop tomorrow, we likely won’t see this update for another few weeks. I’m digging the hi-top vanbus.

The main reason (I Think) the Wendover and Wigeon were released with vehicle remasters was simply because they shared a lot of components with them.

That makes sense in terms of it being developmental reasons - makes things easier for the devs, I'm just saying in terms of, like, "well, we're releasing a Pessima remaster, might as well do the new Pessima at the same time"

Because they're in the same line

And they share the same basic components (wheels, powertrains, suspension designs).

How common various police cars in the US are is very much regional. The Taurus was a lot more popular in the North than in the South because it had AWD on the police package from day one (essential for winter), while the Charger was a lot more popular in the South. Older police cars as a whole are very rare in the Northeast due to how brutal the region is on vehicles due to the winter and road salt.

All in all what you will probably see:
    Sedans:

2019-2020 Ford Fusion - Incredibly rare. The Fusion was far too small to be a police car and it earned a horrible reputation with police due to this and was killed off entirely when Ford discontinued its sedan lineup completely.
2013-2019 Taurus - Quite popular still but slowly being phased out due to being discontinued. More common in the Northeast than its competitors.
2001-2011 Ford Crown Victoria - Most departments no longer use the iconic Crown Vic but there are quite a number that still do, usually in areas where they cannot afford new patrol cars.
2011-2017 Chevrolet Caprice PPV - Not very common due to NAFTA regulations limiting their sale to a number of US law enforcement agencies as they were made in Australia (rebadged Holden Commodore). Many of those that do exist are slowly being retired from service.
2006-2016 Chevrolet Impala - Not very common, many retired from service but some still exist
2015+ Dodge Charger - Very common across many regions of the US, and also the only police package sedan still in production in the United States.
2011-2014 Dodge Charger - Many still in service but slowly being phased out.
2006-2010 Dodge Charger - Very rare at this point due to age, but some are still in service in a few areas.
Much older examples - Some still do exist. Older generations of the Crown Vic are in service in very few places, same with the 90s 9C1 Chevrolet Caprice. One of my friends found what appeared to be a Chevrolet Lumina still in service in rural Kentucky at one point recently.

    SUVS:
2020+ Ford Explorer - Introduced last year, but already very popular and quite common in many jurisdictions. Could very well become the most common police car in the US in the future.
2018+ Ford Expedition - Quite rare but some departments use these.
2021+ Chevrolet Tahoe - Introduced this year, somewhat rare due to being so recent. Will probably be common in the future but will likely still be behind the Explorer in popularity.
2016-2019 Ford Explorer - Extremely common in many jurisdictions, and the most popular police vehicle in the US.
2013-2015 Ford Explorer - Still in service in many areas but less common than the facelift due to being older
2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe - In service in many areas but less popular than the explorer.
2007-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe - Somewhat rare in many areas at this point due to most agencies retiring them but still in service in some areas.
2010+ Dodge Durango - Less common than the Explorer and Tahoe, but present in many areas.
Much older examples - Some still do exist. I know of at least one Sheriff's department in NC still using 2006 Explorers for instance.

Shows that even cops are falling for the SUV/crossover craze. In my area, they use Rams and F150s for traffic patrol. Lots of people find this super wasteful, but they really don't care. A mid-sized hybrid sedan or crossover is more than enough for these guys, because they tend not to carry much equipment with them while patrolling. Don't get me started on the ridiculous unmarked cars, too. I see an equal amount of unmarked cruisers as I do marked ones. Nonetheless, the Roamer would really benefit from a SWB unmarked variant. Hopefully that'll be immanent.

I would really love to see what I call a "shorty sporty" in game, a naturally aspirated, SWB-ish vehicle, I miss the days of dressing up the D-Series V8 Sport in police clothes and crashing it at 107 MPH . Back to speculation, the sedan would make for a great "Polizei" variant, as well as a UAE police car, as those are the only two countries I can think of that can realistically use an Audi (what we think the car is based on) as a cop car.

The issue right now is that departments can only purchase the Charger as Ford and Chevrolet have discontinued all of their police package sedans, which isn't helped by the fact that the Charger is uh well, a Chrysler product. Much of this isn't exclusively the fault of cops either, it's the fact that American sedans as a whole are very unpopular in the consumer market and the car companies can't keep a car around exclusively for a police package.

The other thing to note is that modern-day American police carry a TON of equipment nowadays due to the growing amount of things police are expected to deal with. I have no idea where you are getting the idea that they don't carry much at all.

I really don't think that the new car is going to be German, as we already have two sporty modern German cars already (and if they wanted a modern German sports sedan an 800 Facelift + Sedan Body would work perfectly fine). And out of the two versions you mentioned, I take issue with the latter as I see zero benefit in adding a police vehicle for a country that has zero representation in game.
