Last time @tdev talked about the dyno, he said they were fighting bugs on it, that was awhile back though. Just wondering if there was any current progress on it
So here's the list of things we know are in progress. Maps -Wheather: The files are already in-game, and the devs showed pictures of it, so I guess it's pretty much ready. -West Coast USA: First revealed in Apr. 2016, this map is presumably pretty close to release. -Italy: Although being in development for a really long time, and developed with relative transperency towards the community, there's probably still lots of work to be done. Vehicles -Parts for the Hopper: More or less confirmed. -Rework on the drivetrain -New trailer: Could be a car delivery trailer, but we don't know for sure. -Bluebuck, Wendover: When they're ready. -Dyno: We haven't heard about it for a long time, but it is still in development probably. -D-tow truck: The files exist, but who knows? -Unrestricted rev limiter: Shown by the devs -Tire heat and wet/dry behaviour: I know it sounds strange, but I'm pretty confident. Although it wasn't teased by the devs, it makes perfect sense together with the Wheather update. Besides, after they released the new grip and pressure tire simulation last update, the next logical step towards ultimate tire simulation is heat and wet/dry conditions. Gameplay -Camera-switching numbers -Map/minimap changes -Sounds -OSM Street Loader: Whatever that means, we know it exists.
I don't really agree with weather... That sounds more later... maybe the update after next update. --- Post updated --- Also... This is a bit further out. As computer technology Continues to progress (Assuming this game is indestructible) Will Torque3d ever produce noticeably better graphics?
I remember seeing a picture of the ECA bridge, during a storm, but now I can't find it. Maybe it wasn't by the devs.
It was by the devs, however, it was just a concept. The only thing pointing towards weather at the moment are the skyboxes and the so called "Rain Objects" on the devblog.
This coming update will have content, and that content would be good also there will be bugfixes, plenty of them.
http://bfy.tw/4LRc --- Post updated --- The "rain objects" are just normal objects with a specularity map on them to give the illusion of rain. Then, decrease grip and you have a wet road. Torque is not strong enough to simulate real, dynamic rain yet. Or at least that's what I've heard.
