Update Speculation thread

I see a good chance of Italy coming around the holidays, and a possible update this month just serving to make the wait less boring.

 

no, it's been re-stated multiple times now that Italy is not ready yet due to optimization issues (correct me if i am wrong)

what i think we could see this month is the Autobello Piccolina and the New UI.

 

New UI is unlikely to be included this early, it'll probably be the new car and some bug fixes (including current UI optimizations) and features as usual.

 

I predict that the update will be in November, and I don't get why everyone thinks it will be out by next year, I think december at the latest.

 

People are probably talking about the update after next update, which will likely contain Italy, as Tdev said that this next update will not.

 

By holidays he means Christmas and new year, which could be when Italy comes, that would be 2 updates for this remaining year.

However it could be that Italy comes in January, but February at latest, depending how much they have work left on that.I would think they might be aiming for end of year / Holidays, but it can be it gets delayed from that.

I would be actually surprised if next update would be in November, as it would leave bit short time to work on Italy and stuff related to that.

Thus I predict next update is bit smaller and that is why it could release this month (it does have big things in it though, vehicle controller stuff etc.), features and stuff mostly, then update after that is probably big one with Italy.

Also reason update to come this month is to prepare modders for new vehicle controller stuff and who knows what else they have pulled off from their sleeves.

If Italy comes with Vulkan it could be also that this months update gives some hints about that and maybe something which modders need to do to make mods ready for Vulkan, but maybe that is just dreaming bit big

We know that they have been working on Vulkan for quite long, so I would think that way to get Italy to run is probably with Vulkan, which they need time to make release ready shape. It could of course be just optimizations to current engine, but consider they have been working at least from April on it, with interest towards it expressed even at 2016, it could be that there has been much longer time of work done on it.

Still, 2-4 months to get Italy to run over 3 times better, that is a lot unless a lot has been already done and just little is left.

Anyway they need time to work on that performance jump and because of that it would be important to release update this month, so they can focus breaking and fixing the game for next 2-4 months. New vehicle controller code etc. need to be out of way before that, I think, so update needs to be out and hotfixes done etc.

Next update I think is ready already, they might be hunting potential issues before release, but I think all stuff has been added already.

I would not be surprised if next update would come even earlier than Halloween, but testing also takes time.

 

Where'd he say that? And does that mean were not getting the autobello?

If you actually decided to do some looking, you would've got your answer point and blank.

 

We originally thought that the Autobello would be paired with Italy, whether or not it's coming this update is not known. (Though probably likely)

Carbohydration already did like a few minutes ago, so what's the point now of doing it when someone else already done it?

 

That poll is rigged, over optimistic December that is my guess ended up being something else, maybe January, not quite certain, want my money back!

 

I know that's a joke, but I wanted to give some of the more extreme ends of the spectrum the chance to vote.

I personally think a New Years release would be great.

 

I really don’t think they would postpone a vehicle release unnecessarily. If it was meant to be released with Italy, and Italy was originally meant for the next update before optimization got in the way...

 

We don't know how finished the Autobello is, like Italy, it could have unseen issues that can't be represented.

If the AB is basically finished, yes it would come out before Italy.

 

No UI in the next update confirmed

 

this makes me kind of sad TBH. the UI for me is pretty damn slow.
