Updating deleted my map save. Please tell me there is a way to recover it.

I've been editing a map for awhile now and spent a decent amount of time into it. Not realizing that an update would delete the world save, I switched to the newest version, and now all my progress is gone. Is there a way to recover the file? Does it make a separate file for the update to where I can open the first version? I'd assume not, but you never know. Perhaps if I revert my computer to a previous date for at least some damage control? I'd REALLY appreciate any feedback you can offer. It would be a shame if all this time and effort went to waste.

No, always copy the level's folder before changing anything on a level that is included by us.

That goes for all files that are included with the game. Update will update them to our alpha version so if you want to keep something back it up before update (you should back your work up anyway ...) or work on another copy that is not an official file. And then back it up anyway.
