I'm trying to get into map making, but I'm awful at world editor Has anyone ever used this website for heightmaps? I think real world data like this is mostly used for city building games (well, in modding anyways,) but I thought, "why not try and make it work in BeamNG?" I'm interested to hear if anyone has used real world data before for any game, or has thought about it, or has even been on these web pages that offer you the free download. Just thought it would be a fun discussion. P.S. This is what I'm linking to if you don't trust me EDIT: Oh, and it's totally legal as long as long as one modifies it a little bit.
From what I read when I signed up as long you do not sell the resources to a third party... I have used some images from there to test an idea and then used terrain.party's "melded" imagery to make an actual map.
