I wasn't sure of the best place to submit bug reports, so I figured making a thread here to document them all is best. My intention is to only report bugs that create annoyances with general gameplay that I would expect a typical player to easily encounter (high usability priority).

I am not looking for support, just attempting to log some issues that have created "game breaking" annoyances for me personally.

I've noted the game version for each bug, then bolded the main topics & reproduce labels for readability. The forum doesn't seem to support bullet point sub-items so this seemed best.

I'll keep this post updated with any new bugs I find, and I will add [FIXED] tags to any issues I observe as resolved.

[KNOWN] means I or someone else has confirmed an issue is a known problem.

Unless otherwise noted, all bugs have been tested in safe mode with no mods.

    Active Bugs

    System
    • [KNOWN] v0.26.1: Activating NVIDIA GeForce Experience Overlay or starting a video recording with Shadowplay sometimes triggers the desktop overlay mode and forces BeamNG to change to a windowed state. REPRODUCE: Unknown, it is intermittent and occurs about 25-50% of the time on current game version. Only info to add is I am using multiple monitors. BeamNG options are set to full screen mode when this occurs.
    Scenarios
    • v0.26.1: Garage to Garage Delivery: East Cost USA & Italy. When using the Continue Here option after completing any delivery, slow motion is forced and does not disable when using slow motion toggle hotkeys. REPRODUCE: Finish a delivery, then use the Continue Here option and observe the forced slow motion state.

    Unfixable Bugs

These issues have been determined as unfixable. The unfixable reason is included at the end of the bug description.

    System
    • v0.26.1: Sound output doesn't update when switching Windows to a new sound device. Game sound continues to play through the original device. Reproduce: Start the game, then use Windows Sound Manager to change to a different sound device, such as switching from speakers to a headset. Sound will continue playing through the original device. UNFIXABLE: Beam staff confirmed this is a design constraint and is not something they can address. See Fluffy Panda's response in this thread for clarification.

    1) This is just the way our system is implemented, you cannot switch the output device on the go, a game restart is required.
    2) This is a known issue, you can always switch back to full screen mode using Alt+Enter. You can also switch the game to borderless mode instead.
    3) Make sure to check if the issue persists in Safe Mode.

Thank you so much for replying. I appreciate the attention and the bug reports being interpreted so quickly.

    1) Understood. It is a bummer, but Beam is not alone in this problem. It is a somewhat common issue with many games. I've updated my post to reflect it won't be fixed.

    2) Roger that. However I would like to note that I have tried using Alt+Enter to come back to full screen, but Beam still reverts back to windowed when starting a recording. One thing that has helped work around it is opening the GeForce overlay (Alt+Z) before starting a recording. For whatever reason, the overlay seems to have a less chance to trigger window mode. If the overlay opens and full screen is maintained, starting a recording consistently works normally after that.

    3) Just re-tested to confirm the issue does occur in safe mode. I've updated my post to indicate I've tested in safe mode, and I'll be sure to include whether or not safe mode was used moving forward. I would also like to extend the problem seems to also happen in Garage to Garage Delivery: Italy. I have not tried the third scenario from this group but I will be playing it tonight. I've also added clarification the issue occurs specifically after completing a delivery mission.
