I'm currently thinking about making a GM/MCI/Novabus Classic (wew) mod. I was wondering if I were to do this, would it violate BeamNG's policy on copyrighted material even if I release it without these logos?
Hi! Welcome to the forums No copyrighted brands or material are allowed on the repository due to it being managed and monitored by BeamNG and being part of the game experience. People tend to badge engineer or re-brand vehicle content for repository distribution, but this is not recommended for a variety of reasons, and the community typically doesn't appreciate this and it can cause some confusion. You may release copyrighted content on the forums, granted its still all your original work, or you have permission to use the assets you're not making yourself. Good luck with modding! You should invest some time into learning the wiki and making some smaller mods to prepare you for your larger quest of making a vehicle. Also get and learn how to use Blender before starting. With some tutorials, it's not a hard program to learn, especially if you're not trying to adapt from another modeling program and its your first time using a modeling program. Feel free to ask (Reasonable) questions, and if you get stuck with understanding something or are confused with your mod, feel free to make a thread in the Mod Support subforum Hope this helps a bit, and I'm sure other users will chime in and post too.
This in particular. It applies only on the repository. It does not apply on the forum, as what you upload is your responsibility.
