Vehicles Load but are not Visible

When I get any new car, whether it be land or air, is not visible. It partially loads like it is there. There is an icon for it in the vehicle list but its the default icon and when I try to load it, there are options for colors and it doesn't display the vehicle or anything of the sort. When I press 'done', it loads the vehicle but it is not visible and starts to get very glitchy. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? I am running windows 8, and have never had a problem with other games.
