Version 5 and caching is still not fixed

    the caching system is still messed up for modding, when you change some things in the materials.cs file it wont update using CTRL + R method, you have to close the game, delete the cache folder and run the game again.

    I use that often as you can imagine, and never had a problem with that either.

    Sometimes it indeed doesnt update the material.cs. thats what i experience too. But i just delete the cache then and press ctrl+r again.

    I wonder though what kind of change are you making in the materials file? If you are just tuning colors (diffuseColor) than yes it works, but if you are turning off/on or adding/updating texture maps, than no it doesn't work.

    Reproduce the issue
    Take these steps:
    Type // in front of any diffuseMap
    Press CTRL + R
    You will be expecting the texture to be orange, but..
    it still loads the diffuse map, because BeamNG is caching maps - terrible for modders

    That is my issue, when I update a diffuseMap I have to restart BeamNG.

    Impossible to delete the full cache while the game is running.. how are you doing that? it wont let you delete the html folder which is what cache's the maps
