Version change to beta?

The game seems too far into development to be called alpha, but ofc it's not a finished game.
I mean hell, I played 0.3.0.5 on my fathers computer in early 2014 and that was what I would call alpha, but the latest versions are almost a completely different game.

What might make it a beta version?

Thoughts?

 

I don't think they ever intend to go to "Beta", since they're already publicly "testing" on alpha.
Instead, they're probably looking at going from alpha to full release, probably once they have the career mode properly implemented, which might be a couple more years.

Even then, that likely won't mean they'll stop developing the game, TDev has stated in the past that he has a wishlist of nice-to-have features that could easily take another 10 years of development.

 

Yeah, that's what i was thinking. continuous development with continuous testing; a good way to develop such a big idea, it just takes a millennia.
