I really don't like how theres so many mods that are paid now. I get that people put hard work and passion into these things, but it just doesn't feel right to me to pay for just a mod.

Official paid mod repo when. if there is a single trusted platform instead of many.. then hopefully all the issues and drama will resolve themself. think of how everyone is shitting on modland, and refers to this repo and forum and imagine this to be the case for a safe controlled paid mod repo. Cause it sucks for the really solid paid mod developers who are suffering from those who sell trash. eg crown concept whos literally selling mods of others and using game assets (jbeams, textures etc) all the while making thousands of $ each and every month.

    Few points

    1. Modding itself isn't free. Programs like photoshop and substance painter or addons for blender are quite expensive. Research also sometimes costs money if you need to buy brochures, workshop manuals, go to junkyards in person or whatever.

    2. Modding takes a hell of a lot of time and effort, 5 to 6 months usually for a full car in my case

    3. The majority of mods are cheap. Fast food is more expensive and that dissapears in minutes without a second thought. Compared to a mod you buy and get to keep and have fun with forever

I personally think that paid mods are fine as long as the price is kept reasonable which to me is around the 3-5€ range and it isn't a monthly payment which basically just makes you spend more money on a mod just so you can get access to updates to it to me which just sounds more like a ripoff to me especially with the modders who basically make the membership that gives you access to the mods 10+€ monthly I'm fine which cheap memberships like 1€ monthly for example though
