    Hello, Newbie here.

Just bought the game around an hour ago, downloaded it to my steam library and opened it. I can barely get above 20fps on any map that I play at any graphic setting, and this is extremely frustrating. I have all postfx disabled too as well as everything else that might hurt performance.

When i go into the options menu and select display drivers, the only option i am given is Intel HD Graphics 4000, however I have a nvidia gtx 675m which should be more than able to get above 50fps at low settings. I checked the FAQ, but i don't think that it was the answer i was looking for, because I dont have Nvidia optimus (at least i don't think so).

My hardware is as follows (Running on windows 8.1)

    CPU: Intel core i7 3630k QM @ 2.4GHz
    RAM: 16GB
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 675M

if the fps stays the same no matter what graphics settings, then for some reason your cpu is causing problems.

    to test this:

    #1 open game
    #2 load into a map
#3 open fps counter of your choice
    #4 press J

if the fps shoots up, then your cpu is causing problems, if it does not, then idk

(just because the game says it's using the intel hd 4000 doesn't mean it is btw, for some reason on laptops will multiple gpus it likes to say it's using the integreated one even if it's using the dedicated one)

Fixed, needed to use the nvidia control panel, not the windows control panel, in order to manually select the graphics card for beamng. Wasn't clear in the FAQ on the wiki.
