Vmlinuz' Compendium of Minor Shading Annoyances

Here I will be maintaining a list of very minor material/shading issues on official vehicles in the hope that they get fixed someday. I've mentioned many of these in the 0.23 discussion thread (a few I noticed in older versions too) but none of them got any traction there, so I made them their own thread. Here goes:



Formerly black plastic grille on the Grand Marshal is now body colored; independently colorable on Stripes livery along with underbody for some reason



Base model Grand Marshal now has extra chrome; no way to get the original body colored + black plastic trim



LeGran wagon's rear windshield inner surface is reflective unlike other inner window surfaces



Subtle, peculiar rectangular seam in LeGran wagon's reflections underneath rear windows (yes it is on both sides)



Very noticeable seam down the center of the LeGran's hood



Shading oddities on LeGran's front windows



Moonhawk stripe and special skins now have forcibly body-colored bumpers, door handles and extra chrome strips



Baked ambient occlusion is (maybe?) too strong on new Pessima door handles



Some weird shading on the ETK I-series' rear windows



Wendover chrome trim is too dark



Wendover front lip has some weird artifacts near the fog lamps

 

Barstow's "Stripes (Colorable)" livery changes the chrome's roughness (not actually a bug as the chrome is supposed to be colorable, but you should add a new chrome color to the selector for consistency's sake)

The real bug is that the entire engine bay gets painted whatever color the bumpers are - so you will end up with a chrome engine bay; also the trim around the grille is different. I realize PBR is a work in progress, as are all the new textures - hopefully having someone hunt down minor inconsistencies like these is helpful!

These aren't quite material bugs but do check the models for the front and rear quarter windows, there's some funky shading there. Plus the sport spoiler tends to jiggle

 

0.23.3: Wendover chrome is fixed. However it still needs to be upgraded to PBR
