How many times we see a car basically the same as another one? Also how many times we see a mod that is ALMOST finished but strangely the dev commits last online 5 years ago? I wanted to give some ideas of original mods that will garantee success. *1ST IDEA* Microvan This is a VERY discussed type of car since in unique and very popular in africa and asia. There is a Suzuki Every mod but its made in automation and done poorly. I wish for a blender-made veihicle because this car has much potential. Also someone almost finished the mod but left the game. CAR I WAS REFERRING: MOD ALMOST FINISHED: https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...-a-picture-or-contributing-post.1575/page-409 *2ND IDEA* Middle east Map. I know there are some desert maps but they are all based in the USA. Also in the Middle east there is not only desert but very cool cities. I hope you understand and if you can model please consider this. 891054[/ATTACH]
ah yes, because having a mostly finished mesh (still with only a basic interior) means that you don't have another 6 months of much more specialised work to laboriously slave over, all while going unpaid and having annoying children complain that you're not finishing it fast enough. making a car mod takes a considerable amount of time and effort, and thus also mental investment. go and make one yourself if you're really that desparate.
It takes a lot of heart to develop things for this game. Takes an abnormal amount of time to get things working, and you need to be skilled in multiple areas. Good knowledge of 3D space, car design skills, solid understanding of how engineering works, materials knowledge and how they interact with each other, how the game engine works (have fun with jbeaming), lots of time and passion, and last but not least… Alcohol. If you give it an honest to god solid try and nothing comes of it, don’t beat yourself up. It’s a lot to do, some things just don’t mesh well with some people. (ex: I can 3d model very well but can’t jbeam for my life, it makes no sense to me)
Modelling is hard, but it isn't the hardest part of making a mod. It is making said model work in BeamNG that is hard. You have to make countless files that give the structure of each part and how it should deform, the sounds the engine makes, how it sounds without an exhaust, separating the model into separate parts if you haven't already, which nodes are flammable and their flash point, making all of the lights work, making a working gauge cluster, a working steering wheel, making working stalks, aligning wheels with the main model, etc. If you don't do even one of the things, people will always complain about it. You will always have to deal with your mod inevitably being re-uploaded to different sites that will give your computer digital chlamydia without credits. Oh, and you have to repeat these steps multiple times if you want to give your car any options whatsoever. It isn't worth it for someone else to make a mod unless they make it private, at which point people will beg you for the mod.
im not a modder but i am taking engineering in university and i can confirm for a fact alcoholism will ruin your life kids people from my highschool already have to go to AA meetings...
