Weekly Community Autocross Time Trial

Hey guys, I've had a bit of an idea.

What would you guys say to a weekly autocross time trial done with the proceduraly generated tracks? Who ever runs it (Let's call them a judge) would select a random car and track layout, and would post the seed onto the forum.

Of course, anyone who wanted to enter would then post their best time, and we could have a leaderboard. This leaderboard could be just one big one, or perhaps sorted into categories based on control method, assists etc.

If you wanted more of a cheat-proof system, you could also require that people post a replay file (That's a thing, right? Haven't really touched the replay system yet) for the judge(s) to check through, and it could also help those of us with potatoes

Anyway, just a fun little idea I had that I thought might make the community a bit more active. What do you think?

WEEK 1- GTz Trials

Here is the first weekly autocross. Your challenge is to take this autocross Pessima Gtz (config file below) around the course provided (seed below).

Put the config file in your beamng/mods/repo

Seed: 55541300000

Rules:

• Upload your replay file so that we know you're not cheating
• List you're time with your replay file
• Have fun

 

Which layout are we using to put the seed in?

Also, it might be a good idea to start a new thread for the weekly challenges. Could also archive the leaderboards for each week in a spoiler at the bottom. It might also be good to cooperate with the moderators over on the BeamNG Reddit to see if we can get the challenge stickied each week.

Depends on the poplus, if people want it now we can get it now. I just need those people to participate. We have upwards of 100 people in the group, but last competition (which I stretched out to a month+ for a single race) there were 3 competitions. 3 competitions out of 100s of people! If people can make an effort to participate more we can start running my other plans, like a drift competition, scenarios, speed bussing, etc. But until then I can barely keep the main competition going. /Rant

 

Perhaps we could get a signup sheet going to see who would compete
