    Our budget is 20'000.
We need something that can fit 2 adults and 3 teens comfortably. We also want to get a Chrysler product. (My mom was talking about the dodge journey.)

We need storage space for enough camping supplies for 2 nights in a tent.

It does not have to be Chrysler, but my mom was happy with our caravan and never had any problems, so she has a good rep with Chrysler.

Well, the Journey is... ancient :)

Decent vehicle by its own rights, but definitely a bit long in the tooth right now.

I keep telling her that, too! But she says "if it hasn't had an owner before I will drive it, no matter how old the design."

If you can live with a face only a mother could love, the Cherokee is quite an interesting proposal.

Is it spacious enough for your needs?

It's significantly smaller than the Journey, both inside - around 54 cubic feet vs 67 (behind the front seats) - and out.

I don't think it would be that much of a significant difference.

    Hum a Crossover ?
I can suggest you the Chevrolet Orlando, I don't even know if it's sold, or has been sell where you live, but in ocasion you can find it for around 17 000 $ And he is a pretty powerfull (the TDI have 163 hp It's a lot in France ^^) It's very comfortable, drive pretty well and he is very reliable.

If the Dodge still runs well keep it.

How about a early 2010s Mitsubishi outlander but then Mitsubishis could be rare in your country.

My dads ute is a 93' and it runs pretty well. If you service a Japanese car well they will run allmost forever.

What about buying an ex fleet vehicle as they usualy do long miles and are routinely serviced. Our 2011 Outlander was an ex fleet and so far we haven't had any problems.
