I think iRacing is far too serious of a sim for most people, and it's missing the whole "car culture" aspect of Forza and GT (collecting and upgrading cool cars). There's never really been a Forza/GT equivalent on PC. The closest thing would be the NFS Shift games and those have absolutely terrible tire physics so they're not really worthwhile.
I just realized I am a nfs addict, I've owned every one since I got into PC gaming. Shift 1 & 2, hot pursuit, undercover, most wanted, the run and rivals once it comes out.
My fave nfs game was underground 2 but that may have been just because it was the first one i played when i was like 8. I just kind of bounced off the walls in the races
Yeah, I can't wait to pirate GTA V on day one. Seriously, rockstar doesn't deserve my money when they're being gigantic money whores. I'll probably buy it later when it's on a steam sale or something. But no way I'm paying 50€ for it.
You're not really supposed to post on a thread that's been inactive for more than a year. It doesn't really matter here but someone who does in in this thread tends to do it in threads that should not be bumped i.e. dead modding projects. I'm not buying GTA V until it's either under £15 or someone releases a mod to change the car physics back to how they were in IV. Seriously, off-road driving in GTA V sucks.
Off road driving in GTA IV was also awful, the cars slid around like ice. And besides its on PC, handling mods will happen in no time. As new games go its lower than most. I really don't see how that is a problem. You also have the benefit of free DLC for a few years to come unlike most new games were say 4 cars are like £11.99 :|
Still a lot better than V. Cars in GTA V have extremely hard suspension, which is fine for supercars, but not for SUVs. And if you think cars in IV slide around a lot, you haven't seen GTA V. You either stick to the tarmac like glue or lose control and start sliding around as if you were on ice. Driving is absolutely horrible. Also giv manual trans mod pls
Oh yeah I agree, I just meant when going off road (whatever little there is) the cars will slide really easily on anything. I loved the handling in GTA IV though and they gripped the road just right, the only problem I had with it at all was the really boaty suspension on a lot of the cars but other than that it was great. I also semi like the handling in GTA V. The cars are fun to drive and better than most racing games however the practically non existant suspension and limited damage is annoying as well as the fake speed. It might say 210 mph when its really more like 120mph This video explains it:
This is already a game but oh well. I can't wait for Monza and the new Aston Martin GT3s on iRacing..
The only games I can think of that I'm looking forward to are: binding of Isaac, this game and intruder. Oh and screen cheat looks pretty cool too. Other than that though everything the AAA sector is doing is trash and I haven't seen any indie games lately to pique my interest
You can see a 1st person view from a car in the PC trailer for a brief momment. I surely am looking forward to that.
