Hello everyone! Which gearbox behavior do you use? Please post it in this thread like this: 1. Behavior name 2. With/Without clutch assistance 3. With/Without throttle assistance 4. With/Without gearbox safety And a reason in some lines Also please say you're using gamepad, steering wheel or keyboard Me: I'm using realistic gearbox behavior. Without clutch assistance Without throttle assistance Without gearbox safety I'm using it because I want to play a realistic game. Also in the arcade behavior change gear between reverse and forward gears has a delay. But with realistic behavior I can change it so faster, so I can do this: Edit: I'm using a gamepad (PS4 controller) Edit 2: now I don't use clutch assistance
Realistic Without clutch assistance Without throttle assistance Without gearbox safety Xbox one controller
Arcade when just driving around, but Realistic for things like drifting, racing, rock crawling, etc. Without clutch assistant Without throttle assistance With gearbox safety PS4 controller
I really wonder how you guys do to play without clutch assistant with a gamepad, it's impossible to make a smooth start with this setup
Yeah that's why I use clutch assistant. Also I use clutch assistant to prevent unwanted engine shutting down I don't have a steering wheel, if I had a steering wheel with paddles, I would play without clutch assistant
I use a phone as a wheel.. with analog throttle/brake sliders, and a clutch slider. Gyro sensor as the wheel. So no assists here
But you can use neutral gear instead clutch. Also, I can press LShift (clutch) with clutch assistant. I can even use clutch when using arcade behaviour. So, you don't need to use clutch assistant if you only want to increase the rpm before start
Realistic, No clutch assistant, No throttle assistant, No gearbox safety assistant, Using a Thrustmaster T150 with T3PA pedals. For a reason: idk. Probably just having more control over the car, but it could also be my brain thinking it's more fun this way.
Realistic No Clutch Assistant No Throttle Assistant No Gearbox Safety Assistant Using a G920 with H-shifter. For a reason: I don't get the assists IRL, and the less software filtering my inputs, (both in-game and IRL) the better.
1. Realistic 2. Without clutch assistance 3. Without throttle assistance 4. Without gearbox safety I mean, it's BeamNG. Playing it on a wheel with assists is just weird I'm using a Thrustmaster T300 with a Logitech G27 shifter and/or a Dual Shock 4 controller, depending if it's a quick play or spending some more time in game
That is true for any car meant to go fast, but if your vehicle's got very low gearing and good low end torque, it is hardly noticeable. Even more so while in low range.
I use realistic with clutch assist setting on my ps4 controller, since using clutch is a pain without a wheel and pedals
1. Realistic 2. Without clutch assistance 3. Without throttle assistance 4. Without gearbox safety 5. Thrustmaster T300, T3PA Pedals, and TH8A Shifter Reason: Realism
depends. if im on controller i use realistic with throttle and clutch assist. if im on my sim rig i use realistic without any assistance
That was my favorite thing about switching to a wheel. With a gamepad you're either stalling or doing a burnout, no in between. I use realistic with no assists, both for realism and for fun. I have a G920 with a shifter.
