Good morning, afternoon or evening, I was looking if there was any progress of the GTA 4 map of the user "default", but when I see his channel, there is nothing, only 2 videos that have nothing to do with the topic. Has he been banned or has his mod been leaked?

Take Two are very protective over IV for whatever reason and did not take too kindly to finding out someone is porting them to another game, let alone recreating lots of the features the game had on top of that (not exactly the best tactic for staying under the radar I'd presume)

They are notorious about taking down items that use their assets. Just ask @swift502 about his vice city map port. It was up for a bit, and then take twos legal team sent a dmca notice to beamng asking them to take it down. default is probably going to be off the internet for a bit, i presume.

though unfortunately with the way copyright works, if they don't defend this case, they may not be able to defend a later case where someone's literally copying an entire game and reselling it with a few mods installed.

it is kind of mean, but it's the most legally sure-fire, and logistically easiest approach for them to just nuke everything that uses their assets.

Anything to do with GTA gets copyright claimed at some point. For example the youtuber Radal got copyright claims on all of his videos for using the GTA San Andreas theme song

I think someone has to do something with the copyright rules, right? New rules I mean if an asset, music, etc. It is not used for profit, it does not have to have a copyright claim.
Sorry if i have bad english, most things are translated with Google Translate lol

Take Two in general is notorious for copy right claims of modder projects. It's a massive source of complaint in the GTA community, especially since Rockstar's content has gone downhill lately. That's i guess the only good thing about bootleg sites. I'm sure most of the GTA ports for beamng are on those sites archived, even if you do go through hell and back to get them
