In this thread, which can't be replied to since it's too old, a member of the beamNG team mentioned But they missed out to mention how or what then is the proper process to do a "save state" or "save project" without interfering the the game. Like for example if you have done several modifications on the map, and added some camera paths and some custom AI path script (via Script AI Manager) and other modifications. How do you do something like "save project"? There is no way to do "Save As". It's only "save". If for example I have a project with a lot of vehicles with their customized path script, I can save these scripts for each car. But what if I have like 100 cars, and save and load the level again, I would have to open the path script for each of the 100 cars again individually. There's no way to get this state saved.
srry for bumping, but you can still reply to the thread. you just have to acknowledge that youre bumping a very old post. as for saving whatever you said, maybe check the documentation or wiki as i dont really know?
You'd basically need to create a new map mod (in your UserFolder/levels). You can do this by saving from editor and then changing the name of the level. The renaming process isn't entirely straightforward but this (rename map function in the tool) should help: https://www.beamng.com/threads/beamng-tool-for-map-creators-updated-2025-01-17.89058/
