Well the title says it all, what kind of video capturing software do you use? Why do you use it? Does it effect the performance of your computer at all? I personally like Bandicam, but thats just me:p

I use DXTORY it costs money but well worth it as its very cheap and the best capture software i have used by far. I dont see any FPS drop apart from the odd 0-5 frames but thats nothing compared to the loss of FRAPS.

This works really well, free/ open source, and will use any codec you install on your system.
Works a lot like fraps I hear.

After installing k-lite codec pack it stopped recording for me, though, haven't had time to troubleshoot it

MSI Afterburner with RVT codec. Free, easy to use. Also useful to monitor your GPU stats (Temp, clock, System time, etc.)
