In previous polls, the community decided that the next official vehicle should be a 2010s minivan. Now, it's time for voting for the minivan's origin. The poll series is made to give the devs an insight into what the community wants. The next one, about the vehicle's class, should come next Sunday.
The problem with that is, European minivans don't really exist in the US, except for that Chrysler dressed up as a Volkswagen. However, FCA is technically Italian, sort of, which I guess makes the Pacifica a European minivan. So, I'm going to say European by way of America, so we can find out what the BeamNG equivalent of Chrysler/Dodge would be called (we already have Gavril for Ford, Bruckell for Chevy/Buick/a little bit of Oldsmobile, and Soliad for Pontiac, so what would the third of the big three be called?)
Paternity of the minivan concept is disputed between Chrysler (who came to the market first) and Matra (who is indirectly responsible for the very first minivan designs developed by Chrysler Europe for Talbot that later brought the Renault Espace to life), how about a Charmand from the early '80s?
I would love to have a plastic french Minivan just to see how bad it performs against a metal car in beam
That's baisically an extended X-Max. And the Wikipedia article I skimmed said that it was an MPV, not a minivan.
I'm fairly certain a Renault Espace would beat the crap out of a car like the Miramar or the Barstow in a crash, simply because of its sheer weight. The Espace and the Barstow have pretty much equal weights, but the driver of the Espace would certainly be safer in a crash as the Espace is more modern and likely won't impale the driver on a wooden steering wheel
id like to see an American mini van. although I don't see why it has to be "modern", most of the official vehicles would fit between the 70s and 90s, why should the van be any different. my vote would be for something like a late 80s ford aerostar.
