Hi all. First off, I love Beam NG and when I found out that it's available to play for 15$ I didn't have to think twice. I see what the developers are working on, based on what the billboard on the main screen says, but what can be expected of the "full version", if there will ever be such a thing? After all, when you purchase Alpha access, you are promised lots of updates, more cars, tracks, beta access - and - a finished game. So what's the finished game going to be? I have searched the forum, but maybe not with the best search terms, I don't know, because I haven't found a whole lot. Later, Tom
its going to be a LONG LONG LONG time before the finished game is released, there is only 4 devs after all, 2 coder's, and 2 artists
I wouldnt expect the full product to be released until 2017 (TOTAL GUESS!!!!!)...it takes A LONG TIME to develop games..
I am not worried about "when", I am currious about "what" we will receive. What's the vision for this "game"? (it's currently not a game, it's a toy. Big difference.)
aperently, you didnt understand my point, my point is, is that no one knows, not even the devs, why? because its going to be a long long time before we even get to that point, because there's only 4 devs
You guys seem to be missing my point entirely. Yes, the team is small, yes it will take time, but WHAT is the vision? I don't see that anywhere. Will this be a racing game, will it be an arcade game, an action game or (and this is what I deem most likely), will it be a do-as-you-please sand box. But even current sandbox games (like LBP, not GTA...) feature a story and levels. What's currently available with drive, is like the user generated content of LBP, without the actual game attached. So, again, what will that attached GAME be?
..., no, your MISSING MY, POINT, NO ONE KNOWS, and WE WONT FOR A LONG LONG TIME, because its going to BE, a LONG LONG TIME, before we ever GET, to that point
Are you meaning to tell me, that a project of this magnitude involves 0 planning ahead? They are just playing Ms. Pacman and making a game for the heck of it, without any sort of vision? Also, your CAPS key needs some attention by an IT care specialist.
..., caps are me putting emphasis on words, and they can't really plan for then, because of how far off it is, they could probably tell you what they have planned for some future updates
Putting caps on stuff is not needed I agree with that its like shouting at you...you have to learn control..
You, sir, are a complete, 100% idiot. Please, refrain from posting if possible. :| Maybe let the DEV's answer...
as far as i know it was a objective based game and racing game. like a mission might be: "get this barrel of crap to the docks without flipping 80 times" and then there might be time trial races and maybe other sorts of races. but I don't really know
Forum etiquette: No, italics is emphasis. This forum has it. Use it. Bold is raising your voice, CAPS IS SHOUTING. Edit@OP: The sign at the start menu tells you some of their immediate plans.
Logoster please shut your mush. I think that the devs are aiming for some kind of driving sandbox, where the user is free do do whatever they want in many different types of vehicle. Racing, crashing, and just general fuckery with different vehicles. I think they also want to sell the engine to other companies to integrate into their games.
Quit being an annoying incompetent asshole. You have no knowledge whatsoever. Quoted from the main page: "Our mission To have realistic, accurate, destructible and malleable physics everywhere. To make anything possible."
Thanks for the posts with content. There may still be hope for the world after all LOL. Yeah, I saw that vision statement on the HP, but that is the vision behind BeamNG. The engine. What-s the target for Drive / the game? Looks like they have left that undefined for now. Maybe one of them will chime in and share some info
