Ok, ok The team isn't planning to release vr support as said here: https://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ#Is_VR_support_planned.3F This thread is just to imagine how cool it would be if we had it, that is all! I would scare a certain person with my driving skills! Muhahahhahha! Beamng team, don't worry about this, I see!
I understand this is just a thread to imagine, but I have no idea why anyone would want to use VR in BeamNG. You could probably get PTSD from a crash... And funny enough, I was thinking about this same topic yesterday...
it'd be the scariest crap you would ever experience in a video game. (thats not horror, let alone VR horror) with a wheel and pedals, A group B rally car (V6R4 Covet) and an insane rally course, ohh baby if you crashed, it'd throw you off so bad. I probably would fall outa my chair lol
That is absolutely amazing. Wish I didn't have to bump it just to react. I guess that's for real then. Now we just have to wait for pinpoint accurate motion in 2028.
Nah we need to wait for driver injury simulation! So when you crash at 200mph into a solid wall you die. I wonder what PG rating would that type of sim get...
I really don't think it would be that big of a deal. I really doubt currently feasible VR technology is capable of giving PTSD to mentally sound people. It wouldn't be significantly different from driving games that already have VR.
Maybe, my rig is not quite 4K capable, almost, but not quite, however all VR tests seem to be much lighter than all the 4K tests: For example Steam VR benchmark runs 160-180fps, also 3D mark VR test preview runs something like 280fps, but Firestrike Ultra is much lower, I think it was even under 60fps at times, so maybe VR is lighter to run. Then again VR needs additional processing and stuff, which might make it lot harder on CPU which is the problem usually. 4k VR might be then something else, I wonder if such even exists, usually VR seem to be quite low resolution, but I guess it doubles for two eyeballs
That is not technically possible, you can't have less than 0 Frames Per Second, universe would boil if such would happen
There can be bug in fps counter, but fps just can't be negative, because you would remove frames from 0 frames, then you would have something that is less than nothing while you can't have something as there is nothing. While negative pressure can happen in certain quite limited situations and only very briefly, mostly in theory too, I doubt negative FPS can happen. But I'm not sure if we erase frames from frame buffer, would that be classified as negative fps Still I would be quite certain that reported negative fps is not real, it probably is just fps counter having an issue or something.
