I vote for this: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/102925-asus-radeon-rx-480-dual-oc-4gb/ But is there even better ones?
i know the GTX1070 has good Price2Performance, it is just slightly less powerful than the GTX 1080 but is quite a bit cheaper.
until you see your power bill, i am still waiting for AMD Vega (not the polaris refresh) and i hope that it will be good Price2Perf
Meh well i dont really think there is much increase in power bill. My transition from r9 295x2 to Rx 480, i barely noticed a thing in my billing.
i would get a beefy AMD card but my room is too small, it heats up quite high as it is with a GTX960. I am considering a new card, will the AMD R9 Fury run BeamNG at high settings and decent reflection settings?
What I have seen those have been over 300 euros here and RX 480 is 1060 level and faster, local price 220 euros, I'm sure many places sell under 200 euros.
The best card at the moment is the 4GB RX 470, it's really good in terms of pricing, performance and it even dissipates slightly less heat than the 480. I would advise you to wait until the RX 500 lineup releases, the RX 570 will probably be slightly better than the 470 in terms of everything for the same price
At least locally 470 and 480 that I posted cost exactly the same. Luckily I don't need to upgrade GPU, but why anyone would buy 470 instead of 480 when price and amount of memory is same?
oh theyre expensive, but they also deliver huge performance at that price, more performance per dollar than a 480 or 1060 which was the question originally. Though the 480 and 1060 are both excellent cards too.
480 costs around 100 euros less than 1060, 1070 costs close to 500 where as 480 only around 200, do 1070 deliver twice or more the performance of RX480 in BeamNG? RX480 in 1st post link has price of £164.99, I think those have dropped in price a lot fairly recently? I know RX 480 used to be around same price as 1060, but now there is 1/3 difference in price (1060 is more expensive one), I'm not sure many have realized this?
If someone would buy me 480 and 1070 I could do some proper testing here too What I have seen on benchmarks and game tests, there seem to be quite bit of difference at least with RX 480, on some games it is really lot faster than what you would think by 3d mark scores. It is faster than 1060 on many games though, not sure how it is in BeamNG. For me GTX 1050 Ti is enough though, but as a curious puppy I would like to test more to find out how things really are. Not sure if this gives any idea about performance difference, to my eye that is roughly 33% of difference, but BeamNG might perform differently, also that is 8GB model that is bit more expensive and perhaps bit faster (or not), but price difference is still lot more than 33%, cheapest 1070 locally seems to be 480 euros:
The fury x will max out ANY game. That card is an absolute beast. You know it's powerful when it comes stock with a water cooler Good luck finding one under 300 tho...
You can overclock the non X fury to match fury X performance Haven't tried beamng with my fury yet. But i prefer it over my Rx 480!
That is still over 500 euros, way steeper than most people are ready to pay from GPU. I haven't never paid even 300 from GPU, usually under 250 and keeping GPU for several years.
What ? Non fury card over 500€? https://geizhals.eu/sapphire-radeon-r9-fury-nitro-1050mhz-11247-03-40g-a1373816.html Bought mine used for about 260€.
Yeah, sometimes local pricing is really steep, luckily there are shops in many EU countries and delivery costs are not that bad. That is a lot of performance for 300 price range. There was locally some Fury Pro/Dual/Duo (my memory again ) and asking price was bit over 1700, it was water cooled and big, also I think price of that monster would be hugely less on some cheaper shops.
Note: Every card with "Fury" in it, that is not more than 10 years old, has horrible coil whine. If you could live with that, then go for it, but when you are annoyed by that like me, just take a huge distance of that thought. (I even swapped a PSU, just because it whined under load, my Seasonic now doesn't ^^) Also, the prices of the RX 400-series is going up right now. In germany the 470 begins at 204 while the 480 starts at 244, so waiting for RX 500 wouldn't be bad either I guess. If you want something better for similar money, just search for some used 980Ti's, they are faster than the Fury and they use less power, while I can imagine that DX12 won't be the best thing...
