Why are licensed parts allowed on the repository, but not cars?

Licensed cars aren't allowed on the repository due to copyright reasons (besides just 3D model copyrighting), which makes sense, but why are engines, transmissions, and other miscellaneous parts (even named with their licensed names in the mod titles) allowed on the repository?

I mean I've seen so many mods that add in explicitly-named "Subaru Impreza EJ" engines, or "Ford Windsor V8" engines and transmissions, etc.

They're still replicating a real thing (or close to it), and even using their licensed names, so what's the difference?

It does seem like a bit of a double standard, but likely part of it comes down to the fact that many of the engine mods don't have accurate meshes to the real engines, so all that's being copied is the engine data (which is only ever a simulation anyway).
Whereas with a whole car, you would be infringing on the name, logos, and a particular car design.

Yeah but these mods use their actual brand names and stuff anyways and sometimes even logos.
