Why Beamng uses Torque3d instead of Cryengine?

    On the beamng channel you can find videos of the game on Cryengine. why did the game stop using Cryengine? The performance was that bad? or why?

    Various reasons.
    I think the most relevant one is that CryEngine wasn't using the same licence as now.
    It was paid, and it was very expensive. Too expensive for a startup company with limited funds.

    Torque3D was the best solution back then.

    I know this is stupid, but I personally think that the game would be so much better if it was transfered back over to cryengine (i know that's an insane amount of work to change EVERYTHING) but I would wait the year or two for it. It's well known that that won't happen but, that would be so awesome!

    This should be valid for any other game engine.
    3 Years in development and a lot of effort later.
    Changing engine now is suicide.
