Why did beamng make an anti DDOS thingy before you enter the site?

I actually don't know why but, who knows, maybe it was DDOSed?

 

Yes, it was. Several times iirc from what I could tell but I wasn't online for the bulk of the attacks so I'm just going off of screenshots and stuff I've seen. Kinda strange that they didn't have anything in place prior to the attacks but I guess its taught them a lesson on how to properly protect their website

 

But why would somebody need to DDOS beamng?

 

It's probably the servers where BeamNG are hosted that have been DDoSed.

 

Because usually people don't need a specific motive to DDoS anything, sometimes groups will just do it simply because they can. We're likely never going to know what the intention of the attack was unless the individual or group behind it is named.
