i am always annoyed when i experience it but i am more annoyed when every update i see nothing in the changelog related to making the brakes in the car actually brake. They use friction to stop the wheels, not to send them backwards if its going forward. It makes no sense why slightly tapping the brakes would make the car go rolling back.
The brakes are actually what slow the car while it's in motion. But if the car is stopped and using the arcade automatic shifting mode, the car shifts into reverse upon striking the down arrow/left trigger. This can be seen when driving in reverse, as pressing the up key/right trigger while in arcade automatic will apply the brakes and, eventually, propel the car forward again. As I'm imagining that you're talking specifically about when using arcade automatic, it's important to note that your up key/right trigger and down key/left trigger aren't actually controlling the throttle and/or brake directly. The game decides how to interpret your inputs, and then applies those inputs to the car. I'm imagining this is the default setting to prevent bug reports from a legion of 11-year-olds complaining of the inability to reverse.
I think he means the imperfection in jbeam. For example, if you spawn a pigeon and very slightly and quickly tap the brake (all assists off, realistic modes enabled and what not) the car will slowly roll backwards. This is (I think) due to the way wheels spawn, and could be possibly resolved by changing the base rotation of the wheels when spawning. It's a very minor thing but noticable after 500 hours of playing this game.
That's not what i mean. When i put the car at about 1 mph, and i slightly tap the brakes, the car is pushed backwards. I am using realistic transmission simulation and not placing it in reverse.
