Take the GTX1070 for example, MSRP of 380dollars, and its hard to find a card at £380! RX480 8G MSRP of 250dollars, its hard to find a card at less than £250 These are all ASUS Strix cards but should the premium be that high, and its not like the other manafacturers are cheap either, they are all priced around this mark, makes begging for a GPU for Christmas even harder
take my card for example i have a gtx 1070 strix oc from asus and i bought it in my country for 560 dollars (im bulgarian) and it was on sale. The new cards from Nvidia are way more expensiv due to amd not releasing a high end card this time of the year. --- Post updated --- but it still is not as bad as 980ti pricing. Here a new one will run you about 1000 dollars...
easy. MSRP is USA pricing before sales tax. Apply 20% sales tax. You get 456. Apply 20% import tax. 547USD or £442 GBP.
In New Zealand, My RX 480 was going to cost $500 just by itself but to get one imported from USA only costed $430 which included tax AND shipping.
Wow 20% sales tax and then you guys get slammed with 20% import tax. So much taxes lol, where I live online shopping is sales tax free. Shipping is the killer though. Regular store shoppng is 8% sales tax and a 0.5% GET rail tax.
