wireless xbox steering wheel will not change

i would like to use my xbox 360 wireless steering wheel on my pc and so i have bought the connector thing.

however a few of the commands are misplaced so i have decided to fix them

i am now in the act of fixing them however any change i make to the scripts/......../custom/{input map file name...} make no difference what so ever to the final effect the wheel gives and all inputs are exactly the same

i hope you will be able to depict my meaning from my senseless babbling...
