I followed a youtube "how-to" video a few nights ago and made a new map using Johnson Valley as the base. I made an amazing rock crawling course, everything worked great I shared it with a friend he uploaded it to his server, 3 of us wheeled it that night, good times were had. However, we all wished I had used the KOH map as a base since it has other rock trails that we could leave the rock course and go drive on if we chose to. So we both deleted the first map I made and I started on a new map the next day, this time based of the KOH2 map. I followed the same steps I used to make the previous map. However, this time when I share the map, he does not see the rocks I have added. The first map I zipped out of game, and it worked. Tried with the second it did not. I have tried WinRar and just compress to zip. Then I read it should be packed in game. So I did that still not working. I have unpacked and packed in the mods folder and had the folders open and watched the file move from mods folder zipped to unpacked folder. So I know its the correct file I am sending. I just made another attempt, made another new file/map. I opened the king of hammers map I made and copied the BeamNG.drive\0.31\mods\unpacked\kinvo_koh\levels\Kinvo_Rock_Course\forest and with this I got the rocks JMWTV added to make the KOH map on top of the Johnson Valley map, but did not get the rocks I added. Is there some setting in World editor I accidentally changed that is preventing these rocks from entering the correct file? I can close and reopen the game and still have rocks. I placed the file on my friends server and I still have rocks they don't. It seems like the information for these rocks has decided to write to a different location in my computer, which my computer pulls the information from but its not attaching it to the file even when I pack the map in game. Sorry this is a bit long, just trying to cover all the bases and get this map to save properly to be shared with friends. --- Post updated --- All rocks were added via Forest Editor, I didn't bring rocks in from any outside source. I have also tried just building another map of of Johnson Valley, exactly as I did the first map that worked. However it still is not working when I send the file to my friends, no additional rocks included.
You have to copy over your changes from the levels folder to the unpacked mod you used as base and then zip it again.
All rocks were added via Forest Editor, I didn't bring rocks in from any outside source. I have also tried just building another map of of Johnson Valley, exactly as I did the first map that worked. However it still is not wor I can't thank you enough. I knew there had to be some small step I missed some place and have been losing my mind for two days trying to figure out what it was. I copied that file over, it over wrote the existing and rocks appeared. I assume it is still best to "pack" file file via the repository mods file in game? And share that with my friends.
