    I don't mind the new controls, except for the fact that the reset vehicle button isn't on the controller. I would like to make the start button reset the vehicle, but I cannot find the name of the button for the input map config. According to this, select is "btn_back", but that doesn't really tell me what the start button is. Could anyone help shed some light on this?

    Easy; just add this line to your input map (check the console to see which one is loaded, there are several 360 controller maps)

    Code:
    %mm.bindCmd(%device, btn_start, "beamNGResetPhysics();", "");
    Also, if you want your custom inputmap to be saved and not overwritten during an update, make a "custom" folder within inputmaps and copy your inputmap file into that folder.

    hi gabe,

    sorry this is off-topic but i'm new to the game & have created a couple threads to little avail; my main issue at the moment is that my pad is recognized in the console/debug screen, but there are error messages of some kind & in game, none of the buttons do anything. ive found it too difficult to drive with a wheel for me & third person seems more interesting in this game right now anyway, so i may not be playing till i get a new pad.

    but i was wondering if you could point me to a thread that explains, for example, how to see if the buttons being pressed are recognized at all; i know in the create your own input map it said something about this but i never saw anything in the console debug screen. have confirmed the pad is 100% functional.

    thanks!

    Unfortunately when we were rebuilding our GUI/debug system, we didn't get around to the input debug that shows the names of the buttons as they're being pressed. I can't help you with that yet :( We will work on coding this as soon as we can.
