People don't stop saying to me that GM is unreliable as hell, but from my experience and what I've saw on the internet, GM is one of the most reliable car brand in the world. In fact, Chevy was the brand with the most JD Power awards of this year.
I can attest to old GM cars of the European Opel division! I love them but they suck, they have gasket issues, the plastics are terrible and they are super uninspired but thats ok. They are not reliable either but i just love gm cars so much even tho they are terrible <3
Car manufacturers group has a thing called common châssis. It's good for building economy , and mantainance . For examples , the Vw polo shares a Platform with the Audi A3 and the Passat . In the PSA group, the Zx has the same Platform as the 405 , wich is basically a sedan 205. So , on GMC's group , Opel's model shares a Platform with Chevys and GMC
GM has made terribly unreliable stuff; the Cobalt, 10 speeds, the 3.6l, and of course the Vega. But they've made stuff that is very reliable as well, the 3800, early Saturns, anything LS based, I believe he means GM, but the GMC Chevette did.
In my experience, everything you named here were reliable, and the Cobalt is one of the toughest cars I have ever seen, ir's tough as hell. The 10 speed is WAY better than the 8 speed which can give some hard hit sometimes, I have a GMC Sierra AT4X with a 10 speed in it but my truck as like 3000 kilometers on the clock, but with all the trucks my dad have owned with 10 speeds in it, he had no problem so far. My grandmother used to own a Pontiac Torrent with a 3.6L V6 and when she sold it (she knows the guy who bought it), I think there is a head gasket that broke, but the guy who bought it didn't understand he couldn't drive it, so he drove it and blow out 2 engine because of this exact same stupidity (the second engine he bought was from a scrapyard and had more mileage than the car I think). And as for the Chevy Vega, I can not say because I'm too young, but from what my dad told, it had some problems.
1, im very opinionative so i love hondas and basically nothing else well except the chevy ss from the 2010s, 2, i believe car companies pay off awards and stuff like the JD power awards because chevys won it for like the last 8 years or something, 3, older gm stuff like the old c and k trucks i think are pretty good, 4, also i think just because gm is one of the most popular doesnt mean their reliable 5, they arent as bad as ford with recalls every week, but theres no doubt early 2000s gm products are terrible in my opinion, 6, these are my thoughts so take it with a grain of salt, 7, sorry for people who like gm and *cough* ford
Opel aren't sold here in canada, so I can not really say. --- Post updated --- 8, Ford stands for Found On Road Dead.
Car Wizard has metioned how crap the 3600 engines are in the Acadia, equinox, enclave. They drink oil and blow gaskets, the vega had 7 recalls, abd the 10 speeds have been recalled as well i believe
Funny how you say Opel sucks without ven tho they are not sold in here so you're saying it as a clueless man. Also just search image of Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera , compare them and you'll see what i mean
im talking only about their brand new cars here. their trucks are fine in my opinion but their cars and crossovers are complete garbage. same with dodge and crystler. they feel cheap inside and out and are not great or fun to drive. mini vans to idk why youd ever get a crysler town and country or dodge grand caravan over a toyota sienna or honda accord. Theres no way id ever buy for example a new chevy malibu over a honda accord, mazda 6 or toyota camery. when it comes to sedans or crossovers any of the Japanese brands are way better than dodge or chevy in my opinion. you can just feel how japanese cars are just way better in terms of interior, quality, and the way it drives. ive driven a new malibu and a new camery and the camery was just way better in every way and was just easier and nicer to drive. now dodge or chevys muscle cars and trucks are really good tho and i like em.
