I knew that this one would eventually come up. If you are a hard core PC Racing Simulator person, get out now. If you prefer Grand Turismo, please don't start a flame war. You have been warned. So I've been researching this little topic here for the last few days or so, and I must say that I and most other people are disappointed in Forza 5. First of all, there's no weather effects. Isn't that what GT5 was know for? You could race in the rain/snow? Speaking of weather, we'll never see day/night cycles either. But the biggest thing, the huge hot pink elephant in the room, is the car selection. But, on topic, there's ONLY 200 cars. That's it. 200. I don't want this. You don't want this. What we want is 500 cars including the silly city boxes and hybrids. Where's the DMC Delorean? Where's the Pagani Zonda? For god's sake, WHERE'S THE FORD CROWN VICTORIA? It deserves a spot in more than 3 games (Ford Racing 2 and 3 and Driver: San Francisco). Are you telling me that you traded 300, more like 400 (including DLC) cars for some fancy graphics for your auto vista? Are you telling me that you couldn't fit all 500 cars on your fancy 50GB Blu-ray disc? It's not all bad though. There's a fancy new A.I. system that acts like real players. Mainly because the I for the A.I. is taken from the playings of other people. There's also a new tire system that makes you have to stay in the Racing Line or you'll slide. I would like the general public's thought's please. I can't be the only one ranting here...
Yes I agree with you but you cant really blame the creators of Forza Motorsports 5 and how bad the car list is because Sony has been buying almost every car model right for Grand Turismo series which is leaving the Forza Series with less cars, hopefully someone can fix the problem and just let the rights be used by Forza and Grand Turismo. As for the weather effects i have no idea why they are not doing the weather effect it would be a nice touch to the game. For some evidence i can see. This is why the cars in forza 5 are older and not very many new cars. Most of the cars rang from 2010 to 2013 and another is no Porsche like in the older games in the series, they replaced them with 1987 RUF CTR, Yellowbird 1995 RUF CTR2, 2011 RUF Rt 12 S and they are also not even the new ones they are older models. The point of the new forza 5 is to drive the new sports cars as well as the older models, with the new and better graphics. RUF is okay but I really want Porsche back.
Yea. I heard about them rendering each layer of paint and the clear coat separately or something like that. It seems like they've been given all this extra computational power and have fuck all to do with it so they're filling it with stuff like this. I'm sure the cars will look WAY better on my 720p tv than they did in forza 4, so much so that I wont care about gameplay anymore. What do I care though. I'm not getting the new xbox anyway.
Lets see what cars they missed off....1973 Ford XB GT Falcon...1996 TVR Cerbera Speed 12, I got over 1100bhp and 800kg from that BEAST... The ones in Bold are the ones I like...yes I like the old Beetle but fit a porche engine to it...it turns into a bunny with sharp spiky teeth and its grinning at you..
Wat, no Volvo or Saab... I bet there will be cars that will be as a DLC (ofc..) that will cost a shitton too.
That's the problem. Why can't they just include the cars they took out, and DLC new cars to the series?
They've kept some brilliant cars in, but they definitely shouldn't have included so many muscle cars. They're included 3 versions of the same Trans-Am but there's no 2005 Golf GTi or 1992 Lancia Delta? It's unnecessary. Already preordered though, there's no doubt about me getting it.
The game has 200 cars, there all high quality they didn't reuse any of the models from the past forza games, Grand turismo has so many cars because they reuse cars from past games, Forza motorsport 5 went quality over quantity
Don't forget though that GT6 has about 100+ premium cars than forza 5 and the older models have all been updated and you can now add arts to all of them. They have also added interiors to quite a few standard models. Tessellation is also a massive advantage detail wise, however it remains to be seen.
I'm by no means a Forza fanboy and I enjoy both games, but... GT6 only has 100 more cars than Forza 5 because it already started with almost 200. If you list it purely per game, and only newly-modeled cars: Gran Turismo 5: around 200 detailed cars. Gran Turismo 6: 124 detailed cars. Forza 5: 200 detailed cars. None of them have been touched up, that's just a by-product of being in a much better graphics engine than GT4. Not a single standard model has had an interior added after the game's release. The closest thing to an interior is in the open-topped cars where you can see their steering wheel in cockpit camera - but those functional wheels were already in GT4, they're not new. The tessellation in GT6 isn't going to magically add detail, it's just a way of seamlessly transitioning between the higher-detail and lower-detail models of a car, otherwise known as their LODs. Tessellation isn't going to affect any standard cars; you can't add detail where there's none to be extracted, you have to make it yourself.
According to an article on GT planet they have upgraded a few of the standard models to premium and improved the standard models. Also why wouldn't you count the premium cars from gt5 in the gt6 total as I'm sure some of the forza5 cars are from forza 4. Article http://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchi-on-gran-turismo-6-standardpremium-cars/ And yeah I get what you mean about the tessellation, however it should work well with the premium cars.
This game is the only reason i want an xbox one. The first game I picked up when I bought my xbox 360 was forza 2 and bought every forza since.
They're not from Forza 4, they're the same cars but they've been modelled from scratch. Also, the upgraded standards are counted within the 124 new cars.
Wow, what a piss-poor list of cars indeed.. 2012 Range Rover? Oh boy....finally...... I'm a die-hard Mazda fan. Specifically, the 1970-1992 lineup. And all I ever see in racing games are Mazda Miatas and RX-7/8s. I HATE Miatas, and I am not a big fan of rotaries. But that's all you get in racing games. I'm not surprised or anything, I'm sure it costs pennies to slap a Miata in Forza... Want to impress me, racing gave developer? Put a car I'm not expecting in the game.... 1978-92 Mazda 626 DX, LX, GT (4 door or 5 door hatchback, they also came from the factory with a turbo.. unlike the stupid Miata) 1988-1992 Mazda MX-6 DX, LX, GT (Most people haven't even heard of this car, I've owned two. They also came with a turbo option) 1988-1992 Mazda B2200 2WD or 4WD (Yes it's a truck. Like I said, impress me with something I don't expect) 1989-92 Ford Probe GT {Same chassis as the Mazda 626} (Turbo, ride control, trip computer, rear strut bar...all OEM) My Mazda bias aside, I'd like to see a lot more of old imports (70-90); Volvo, Saab, Mercedes, Audi, Isuzu, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Subaru.... I'm just too biased, I strongly dislike new cars (93+), and anything american. So that automatically turns me off of most racing games. The only consoles I have right now are 2 OG xboxs and a PS1. So I actually play Forza 1 a lot, great game. Forza 2 was also great, Forza 3 was good as well.
Ah yeah I see what you mean now. Also Forza acctually laser scan thier cars rather than model (as may GT6) As for the car list it just seems a like way to few especially for a next gen game, be prepared for a few 100 dlc car packs at like £10 each :/
I want Saab back in the game...I mean GM rammed Saab straight into the ground...absolute a**holes...sorry but I am being honest...
