(People from RoR may recognize this. It is the same car but I'm making another version) Hello everyone. This is my first vehicle in BeamNG. As the title says, I am building a 2012 Subaru Forester. It is an All Wheel Drive off road SUV that actually CAN go off road. It has a horizontally opposed engine (Boxer engine) so it has a low center of gravity. Based on the Impreza platform, the Forester has good handling and high ground clearance for normal offroading to make a practical vehicle for every-day use. Here is a photo of my mesh in Blender. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) The mesh isn't finished yet, but it soon will be. Here’s a photo of the real thing. (imported from here) (imported from here) I know this isn’t the best mesh and body in the world but it’s my first build, so bear with me. Suggestions are encouraged! Versions that WILL be published: Forester S-Edition ( has a turbo) (imported from here) Forester Sports Limited ( doesn't have a turbo) (imported from here) Versions that MAY be published: Forester tS (For racing, not offroading, immensely powerful) (imported from here) Forester XT ( has turbo but less powerful than the S-Edition) (imported from here) Forester 2.5 ( naturally aspirated) (imported from here) Forester 2.0 ( naturally aspirated) (imported from here) Police version (imported from here) (imported from here)
Finished converting the A/C outlets and half the front trim into quads instead of tris. (imported from here)
Finished converting the front interior (imported from here) and started on the back seats. (imported from here)
Hello and welcome back to some renders! (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) The exterior shell has been separated and smoothed. Now I have to work on the frame and the interior. To be honest, it looks a bit crap. Any suggestions? Parts left for the shell: Roof rack Rear spoiler Front fog lamps Door Handles Side Mirrors Hood for turbo model STi bumpers for tS Forester STi under-spoiler for tS Forester
Added a lot of detail, thanks to Edge Split Modifier. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here)
Whoa whoa whoa. That's way too many polys for one small area like that... The polys should be more spread out and less varying in size. Take a look at the default game cars to see a good example.
Take a look at the wireframe of this car. Notice how the polies are about the same size and evenly distributed.
Sorry for the lack of updates. I bought a new laptop and was testing it lately. I added a lot more detail on the front. Before: Now: (imported from here) (imported from here) It looks much better. (imported from here) I will do the door trim and body frame next.
Minor update: Roof rack holes (imported from here) Forester frame (imported from here) Notice the dash? (imported from here) I converted all the tris on it to quads and marked sharp.
Well its the "end of February", so here's the update! Modeled the roof racks, (imported from here) and remodeled the drive shaft channel. (imported from here) Off-topic: I'm going to add a roof-box (imported from here) and a custom Forester(guess which one?)
