I learned that replay files could be shared and opened on other computers while talking with TripleAye, did a collab video using his recorded audio and rpl file, and had an idea. Recording replay files and audio takes much less of a toll on processing power than recording videos and uses decently low bandwidth to upload, opening up a way of producing videos with outside help for people that have more budget friendly gaming computers. Essentially, users with recording setups and BeamNG's fastest drivers (unable to make video recordings) can collaborate towards making video archives of the community's fastest times and greatest drivers.

    Instructions below:
First, how to capture the replay properly. The replays are still heavily alpha, so try to keep them as short as possible to avoid errors. Always start a new replay during the countdown and try to end them within 5-10 seconds of finishing the scenario. You're likely to have better luck with shorter scenarios than longer ones, and scenarios that don't have a large number of props and vehicles on the map. Can't do much if the replay fully breaks, but if the replay only sticks and will play past that area if you start the replay a few seconds back, it can still be used with some editing.

As for the audio, Audacity is a free piece of software that can record the audio for you. Just enable stereo mix, start recording before you run the game, and exit out of full screen and stop the recording after you end the replay so it's obvious where to find the run within the audio file. It's appreciated if you export it into an MP3 at 192kbps or greater, or FLAC, and trim the audio to just before the countdown of your record run, but it's not required as long as you aren't sending something like a 100 MB audio file.

Finally, post both of these files into a zip file and name it after the scenario and time (RoadRace0-58-456 for example) so it can be shared on the forum. I used 7zip to attach an example to this thread. Alternatively this can be done through Dropbox if you're having trouble with the zip file.

If you have issues with any of these steps, PM TripleAye or I and we'll try to help.

This can be done with anything that the replay works for, and audio isn't required to make things like gifs. However, to start with a more reasonable workload, this thread will only be focused on official scenario speedruns, and will be limited to the fastest submission per scenario on a weekly basis, every Saturday at 4PM PST.

Each following week, the top times stand and must be beaten for an updated replay to be made, unless a new major update has come out since the last deadline. Also going to be an initial limit of 15 scenario replays per member each week to avoid a flood of every scenario in the game immediately, though you can update a scenario replay in your post any time before the deadline and it still only counts as one scenario submission. TripleAye and I will download the files and edit together the videos sometime after each week's deadline and host them all in a shared playlist. If you have a good enough recording setup and would like to help out, shoot one of us a PM.

The video made with the attached zip file (using FL Studio sound designing and composing with Avidemux for editing):

PS, this takes a decent amount of time and effort from the editors. It goes without saying, but respect their time and do not cheat. Your replay will give you away and you will be blacklisted indefinitely in such a situation.
